I'd love to see that sequel materialize. I love The Strangers. It's a new classic for me. It really impacted me when I saw it at the theater in April/May 2008.

Not to mention that Arrow releases are almost always better than Scream Factory's. Those damn compression issues suck! Although, The compression is not on all their releases, But enough to cringe!

Not to get off topic but Echo Bridge finally lost the rights to the Miramax films. I really hope scream grabs up Halloween 6 & 7 to do special editions. Really want that producers cut. And now that we know there a print of the producers cut that exists it makes it more possible.

I've seen some people say that the rights reverted to Lionsgate on those titles, meaning that Scream won't end up getting Halloween 6 or H20...

Just rumor and speculation at this point. No one knows who'll be getting the other half. People in the echo bridge tread and the miramax thread are confusing fact with assumtions and rumors by other posters.

If liongate wants them, they'll have to work out a seperate deal with Miramax, they won't "revert" to anyone. They could get them, but as it stands no one knows who has/who will get the EB Miramax.

I think by "Halloween roundup" he was referring to his viewing schedule.

Seconded. There's fun to be had in some of the later films, but none of the are appointment viewing for me.

True. I cannot get past Michael Myer's mask in part 4 and up... It doesn't look like his mask in part I & II. It sucks. Not to mention the stories suck as well. Doesn't even have the same vibe as part I & II. At least the Nightmare On Elm Street & Friday the 13th sequels have basically the same vibe as the original 4 movies in those franchises.

I busted out laughing during the scene in part 4 (I think? maybe it was 5, I watched 4-6 all in a day) where Michael Myers chases a little kid with a car across a field and somehow can't manage to catch up with them. I couldn't stand any of those movies. At least Rob Zombie's remakes were trying to do something and didn't pull punches, especially his #2. Not that either is particularly "good" and I doubt I'll ever watch them again, but I sure thought they were a lot better than 4-6 or Resurrection. Somehow I haven't seen H20, I guess after how bad the other sequels were I didn't make it a priority.

I just ordered III cause of the price cut! Can't wait to rewatch this and see some interviews on it. All these years I've had some DVD I picked up for about 5 bucks back when DVDs were still expensive.

I can only imagine what Roger thought the first most interesting thing about the movie was, Christoper Lee in the sunglasses or the new wave band and theme song repeated throughout.
The sentence is "its second and third interesting moments," not "its second and third most interesting moments," so it's just a joke that the only interesting thing in the entire rest of the movie was the first time she got naked.

I love every single Halloween film for different reasons. But, imo, the worst is Zombie's H2. I'm not too hot for H1 either, if I'm being completely honest.

You're not hot for Zombie's H1 or Carpenter's H1??

I'd never label Carpenter's masterpiece with a simple letter and numerical digit!!

Zombie's was what I was refering to.

Any chance they will release all the Phantasm films? Or at least the original? (I know they released part II).

Why would Michael Myers mask be the same in part 4? It clearly shows him lying in bandages for 10 years. He steals a new mask from the drug store. So, why would the mask be the same as the one from part 1?

It looks like a mime because it's a new mask stolen from a new location from Myers himself.

That's why the mask is different in Halloween 4.

You might consider giving the director's cut of H2 a try. I'm no fan of H1 either, and the theatrical cut of H2 is a bit of a mess, but in its own odd way, Zombie's H2 has plenty to recommend it. I predict time will be kind to it.

When I first rented it, my expectations were...uh..."not high" to say the least. I mean, the sequel to a remake of a classic by a director who is about as far removed from Carpenter's classy skill set as is possible?

Imagine my surprise. I liked it. It's certainly leagues ahead of just about any recent horror remake you'd care to name. YMMV, of course.

I loved Zombie's sequel to his remake. I thought his remake was poor, you just can't remake Carpenter's Halloween without it losing that special something. However, I thought his sequel was much better as he wasn't tied to the original franchise anymore and could take his Halloween universe any where he wanted, which he quite clearly did.

His best film is The Devil's Rejects anyway. He should stick to backwoods/redneck horror as that is where he seems most comfortable. It always bugged me that he made the Myers family a white trash unit, when they lived in suburbia. I know you get those types in suburbs but they appeared more trailer trash than suburbanites.

Would love to see Zombie remake The Blob, as was once rumoured.
