It's a different kind of horror movies. Not for everyone but i found it to be very entertaining. Personally I find Sardis and he wraith to be steaming piles of feces but it's like you know... Whatever?

I struggled with Lords of Salem, great imagery but that doesn't make for a good plot.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Rob Zombie spaghetti western...Devil's Rejects was close to that

The only thing the two movies have in common is the firefly clan. House had a group of youngsters find their way into a firefly trap and all the madness that follows (dr satan). Devils rejects was more of a "on the run" road movie with some truly disturbing psychological moments (unlike house).

The differences between Halloween 1 and 2 alone should be enough for anyone not to consider him a one note filmmaker. No matter how bad the movies are.

Anyone who has given up on rob zombie before seeing the lords of Salem are doing themselves a huge disservice. Easily the best movies he's made and really quite different from his other films. It's all about atmosphere.

wow!! All I can say is that I agreed with every point you made!!

Wow, no love for Halloween 4? It's my favorite movie in the Halloween series after the original, and introduced the horror world to current Scream Queen Danielle Harris. I thought it was a pretty decent effort overall.

As for the Rob Zombie movies, the remake was better than the sequel to the remake in my opinion. The white trash nonsense really drags down the first half of the movie. However, the second half more than made up for the movie's shortcomings. Everything after Michael escapes from the mental institution is pretty entertaining. Not to mention there is a hilarious confrontation between Michael and a bad ass trucker named Joe Grizzly otherwise known as the great Ken Foree.

same here. I LOVE House of 1000 Corpses as well as Devil's Rejects and to a slightly lesser degree, Lords of Salem but those Halloween movies (especially the second one) are a chore to get through. The first 30 minutes or so of 2 are great stuff then it delves into more bad actress Laurie Strode character screaming and swearing and being an obnoxious twit for the rest of the movie.

I do wonder if the long lost House of 1000 Corpses uncut version will ever surface or if it's lost forever (which is my guess).

Thats great, im honestly not one of them who can't take a different opinon, plenty like his work and i will continue to check out his movies if for nothing else he is a genuine horror fan.

Btw looks like prestige has been suspended which is a shame was gonna ask him if he liked Ginger snaps, seriously though i know he could go on but i kind of liked him.

Graduation Day is coming in the Fall from Vinegar Syndrome. They're actual giving it a4K Restoration! More details here.

But what does it say about my opinion vs your opinion of Slasher films that the two you have mentioned hating (Final Exam & Graduation Day) are literally my top 2 favorites!!

Dude, I can understand Final Exam, but Graduation Day? There are no words. My father stole it from a video store when it came out (well, rented it and just never returned it...) and even as a kid, I was embarrassed by it. I much preferred Happy Birthday to Me, which also came out on video around that time. That's my kind of slasher, anything with a good crazy streak.

Must be a tax write-off for Vinegar Syndrome.

awesome news! Did I read on this thread that the laughably bad (yet enjoyable) Mutilator film elements are lost forever? If so too bad. I'd sure like to see that thing on BD, I believe that's the one where the kids go on a "fall break", to which I have never ever heard of a "fall break" in schools.

Gosh, I haven't watched those sequels in some time, but I remember 2 as a decent film though largely a rehash of the original. 3 was wet garbage. And 4 was firmly in the so bad it's good category. In fact, I remember far more about 4 than any film in the series save the original. Haha. I may have to rewatch these as well.

I love "Halloween 5" too

I prefer Jaws 3D to 2 (except for the terrible FX). The Revenge is shit though.

Looks like Pumpkinhead might be getting a reboot:

Maybe a bluray will come out to take advantage of it.

The one thing that's scary about this is I'm afraid Pumpkinhead will be all CGI.
