I love me some Phantoms too! I know it's bad but there's so much entertainment in it. Peter O'Toole was awesome in it, Liev Schreiber was thoroughly creepy, the concept was atmospheric even if the execution was lacking. Although, part of the reason why I love it so much is because I read the book. One of the few books that I read that scared the crap out of me but I kept reading way into the night regardless.

Would be nice to see special editions of Halloween: Curse of Michael Myers, Halloween H20 and Halloween Resurrection. All the others have a nice amount of extra features so would be nice these received the same treatment.

Also, I know it's s**t but Wes Craven's Cursed. Give us the unrated cut instead of butchered PG-13 version and if possible get Craven in to do his original cut as I know there were scenes filmed with different actors amounting to a completely different film.

My hands-down favorite film in the entire Miramax catalog that Echo Bridge distributed was THE HOLE, with Keira Knightley and Thora Birch. That movie is almost flawless, imo. It baffels me that it is virtially unknown in the horror community because of its shotty release by Miramax. It's probably one of my top ten favorite films of all time as a matter of fact. I mean for christ's sake, Thora Birch does a mean fake British accent, and Keira Knightley gets naked. On top of a good old fashioned mystery! Its so damn good.

I'm convinced I got it released on blu-ray (bare bones though!!, and rumor is it may also be cropped?) because I begged Echo Bridge to press it. I bet I emailed them thirty times.

I'd absolutely die if Scream Factory released a swanky edition (or anyone really!) Its just such a twisted movie that deserves more recognition in the genre community.

Only probem is, I doubt they'd even touch it because there is virtually no fanbase. Its a big budget movie too, if I'm not mistaken. The weinsteins just botched the release and sent it straight to DVD at the last minute. I think it's got a sizable foreign following, probably because they actually were aware of the damn thing!!
I've never seen the film. But I am a fan of Keira's non-artsy stuff, cause I'm just not into those movies much. I'm just starting the movie on Netflix now.

The Hole is a really good movie, but I never upgraded to blu-ray because of the lack of extras. The DVD has quite a few.

Definitely underrated. I remember it took years for the movie to even get released in the US, and when it finally was it was quietly dumped straight-to-DVD.

Pre-ordered Ginger Snaps. Now it's all about waiting for Dog Soldiers, Lord of Illusions and Nightbreed to go up.

I could see a From Dusk Till Dawn Trilogy set with Full Titlt Boogie included. And even a Dracula 2000 boxset, although I am not much of a fan of those. Prophecy I downright hate, so I'm more than happy sticking with my Echo Bridge set with those.

I liked CoTC 2, saw it in the theater back in the bay. Part 3 was pretty good also. Part 2 was on VHS and LaserDisc, had both. They where released by Paramount, same with Hellraiser 3.

The Hole did get a bum wrap when it got released in the US. I saw it years before on a UK DVD. From what I remember it was a solid flick.

Ok. I watched it and enjoyed it. I thought it was pretty good. Not something I would buy because of 'rewatchability' (for me). But I'd recommend giving it a watch for anyone who hasn't seen it.

I just PRAY that if they did pick up some Miramax titles they got THE HOLE.

They could be the people that finally get this movie the fan-attention it so rightly deserves.

I get what you're saying about "rewatchability" because once you know the twist it's not quite a effective on replay. But I LOVE to revisit it every once and a while!

Now Phantasm III and OblIVion no longer have a DVD listing on the Anchor Bay site (yet like Phantasm, their pages are still there). The same thing with Silent Night, Deadly Night 1 and 2 Double Pack.

interesting news on SNDN. We know that the first one has been remastered and had theatrical showings so it will be interesting to see what happens with that one especially with the 30th anniversary looming.

Still, that title has gone in and out of print numerous times with Anchor Bay so who knows. What a great collectors edition that one would make. hell, even HD mastered double feature of part 1 as well as GARBAGE DAY!!!

So what do you guys think the odds are that Scream has/or will make a deal for Miramax titles? Did Ijust imagine it or have they said they wanted to to get 6 & H20?

Didn't they initially try to make an offer for the Miramax titles? It wouldn't surprise me if they tried again...

I'm pretty sure they did. Plus maybe I'm wrong but I feel like they could have some pretty decent sellers if they make a deal.
