Someone on Facebook also mentioned that MGM recently did a new transfer for the film that has been doing the rounds on streaming services such as Netflix. Lionsgate's rights may have expired and been picked up by MGM, who then licensed the Blu-Ray to Scream Factory.

I'm definitely in for Pumpkinhead 1....maybe 2 as well, never see it though. I do remember watching the 4th one and knew I needed alcohol to enjoy the movie in any regard....

I watched Pumpkinhead and Pumpkinhead II back to back on Chiller a couple of weeks ago and both movies opened up with the MGM logo. So I'm guessing that's where Scream licensed them from. As far as the movies go, Pumpkinhead probably has the better story and is a better overall movie. However, I actually enjoyed Pumpkinhead II more than the first for a few reasons. It was faster paced, a little campy at times, and had great gore which the original was badly lacking. The monster looked pretty good in both films. Another thing I really loved about the 2nd movie was the cast e.g. Ami Dolenz(Ticks, Witchboard 2, Children of the Night), Soleil Moon Frye(Punky Brewster), J. Trevor Edmond(Return of the Living Dead 3, Lord of Illusions), Kane Hodder(Friday the 13th 7-X, Hatchet series), Linea Quigley(Savage Streets, Silent Night Deadly Night, Return of the Living Dead, Night of the Demons), Hill Harper(Married With Children, Classmate of President Obama at Harvard Law School), Andrew Robinson(Hellraiser, Child's Play 3). I will probably be picking both of these up when they are released.

I really liked the 1st and 2nd ones. The other two were, in the words of Simon Cowell, absolutely dreadful.

Blood Wings is almost like a prequel, but its a sequel at the same time. It does go through the origin story of Pumpkinhead, mostly in flashbacks, If I remember correctly. It's more in the vein of the first than the two SyFy Channel sequels.

I thought Ashes to Ashes was better than Blood Wings. Not by a wide margin, though. Like, fractions.

I guess the Pumpkinhead films will be the September big two titles this year following Halloween 2 and 3 in 2012 and Psycho 2 and 3 in 2013. I'm hoping for Dolls, Hitcher, and Fright Night 2 to be announced as well. Does anyone know what are the chances of Shout getting the rights to and releasing House 1 and 2 and Omen 2 and 3?
