Hitcher is Warner or Sony through HBO, so not at all likely at this point in time.
House 1&2? No chance. Image.
Omen 2&3? Already out through Fox. A chance, but not all that great of one, what with releases already out.

Pumpkinhead is the title I've been wanting from Scream Factory the most for almost two years now. I'm absolutely thrilled at the news!

Looks like Warner may own it outright.

I'm really surprised by the Pumpkinhead II acquisition. It is a very lackluster sequel. It must have been a prerequisite for licensing Pumpkinhead, because I really don't see a lot of enthusiasm for this title, but I may very well be wrong. I bought the DVD of II and watched it once, and didn't think much of it at all.

This announcement makes me hopeful that Scream will license the Sleepaway Camp sequels. IMO, they are a lot more fun than Pumpkinhead II! And I could see more people wanting them, especially as a Double Feature or Triple Feature with Return to Sleepaway Camp. Allan in RTSC is a hysterically poorly written character!

I believe that was mentioned somewhere, about the print. What they were talking about in the new interview/video was that there are no known original elements in existence. So as of now, a print would be the best source they could possibly locate and use.

I watched Pumpkinhead for the first time on TV last October. What a great movie. Fun and fast paced like other classic '80s horror. I can't believe it took me this long to watch it. Will definately buy, and I won't even mind Scream Factory's pricing.

Final Exam on the other hand is a complete bore. Too much talky-talky and not enough action. I like character development, but not with bad actors. At least it is on Blu-Ray for the fans it has.

Without Warning I actually enjoyed when I watched it a few years ago. I might buy it.

Phantasm II and The Burning are next on my list to buy.

My Scream Factory collection is slowly growing:

Psycho II
Psycho III
Night of the Demons
Deadly Blessing

Meager right now but I'm just starting out.

I feel Omen 2 and 3 could get a better release since the Fox release's only extras are a director's commentary and trailer. Would love to see additional commentaries with some cast members such as Sam Neill. Maybe we will get them next year for the 40th anniversary of the original Omen. Would love to see Omen 4 get a blu ray release as well even though it's the worst Omen film.

I think House 4 is owned by a different studio and not Image. Maybe there's a slim chance of Scream Factory release for that? SF have released some mediocre titles in the past.

Honestly, I don't think they should focus on re-releasing films that are already on blu-ray, unless it's a HUGE deal. The Omen franchise could use a more extensive box set with new extras and the 4th film, imo. That would probably be a big seller.

House 4 is Warner, so it's even less likely than the others.

I'm actually looking forward to Pumpkinhead 2. I haven't seen it since probably the mid-90s, and I remembered liking it. I haven't seen either of the later 2 sequels, though.

I think a double feature of the Sleepaway Camp sequels is something we will eventually see, if they're with a studio that Scream can license from. How is Return to Sleepaway Camp? I hadn't realized they had made a fourth one.

Welcome to the forums! I think you'll love The Burning Blu Ray. It's a very nice transfer that looks as good as it probably did in the theater in 1981. It's one of my favorite slashers and Scream releases.

I also really like Final Exam too. It is very talkative, but for some reason I enjoy that part.

The remaining MGM titles that Scream might release - how many do we think have Collector's Edition potential, as a matter of interest? I'd say Dolls, The Night Stalker/The Night Strangler double feature (I know they're TV movies, but I think they have large appeal), Monkey Shines, Vampire's Kiss, Sometimes They Come Back, The Dark Half, and Needful Things maybe? Even of these I'd say Dolls and Vampire's Kiss are the only real certainties.

I can't see the likes of Raw Meat, Burnt Offerings, From a Whisper to a Scream, Phantom of the Opera, Edge of Sanity, The Believers, The Curse, Lady in White, Scarecrows, Clownhouse (a Scream release of this at all is unlikely), The Ambulance and The First Power getting the CE treatment. Ditto stuff previously unreleased on DVD (Death Weekend, Mom, The Borrower, Highway to Hell, etc).

I'm not fussed either way but it's interesting to speculate.

I hope we get The Fly II, Omen IV, From A Whisper to A Scream, Burnt Offerings, The Rift & Dolls at some point, I think as time marches on and they want to keep going, some will trickle out, I admit many of those titles mentioned are ones I wouldnt get or just not interested in - I saw Edge of Sanity that was God awful IMO
Hell Ive got Pumpkinhead, Without Warning and half the Godzilla series on HD this, anything else is icing on the cake for me
such as the Blob coming in October from Twilight Time , The Beyond and Cannibal Ferox from Grindhouse, and several titles from Arrow and Odeon ..

Return to Sleepaway Camp was written and directed by the original writer and director of Sleepaway Camp, Robert Hiltzik. It was shot in 2003 and wasn't released until 2007. It is by far the weakest film in the franchise. Parts 2 & 3 were both a whole lot better than Return, in my opinion.

It has a weird vibe, almost a fan fiction type vibe, with poor scripting and acting. Which I think is in large part due to a troubled, fly by night, production. The film encountered a hiatus that lasted a couple to few years. There were internet rumors that the producers ran out of money after it was filmed in 2003.

Even though it is an amateurish effort, I still find it somewhat entertaining. If you seek it out, just go in with muted expectations, and you might enjoy it on some level. Although that level may be the sub-basement

I've been saying that for damn near a year, and people kept saying it may be Sony, so that's how I phrased it in my post.

I agree - Edge of Sanity is god-awful! I was just listing a lot of the titles MGM put out on DVD. Most I'd buy though.

Good call on the night stalker/strangler, those are classics. I'd say MGM already released most of the movies which would have fit in (ex Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Amityville Horror, Species, Child's Play). A ton of the "Midnite Movies" line are well worth bluray releases but wouldn't fit in with the scream factory line. Things like "Invasion of the Bee Girls" and "The Incredible Two-Headed Transplant" would be right in line with the Shout releases like "Incredible Melting Man" and I'd buy them for sure, and obviously there are a ton of Vincent Price movies they could use for a part 2/3 of the vincent price collection, and then there are things like old horror anthology movies (Tales from the Crypt, Vault of Horror) which are pretty good and have a pretty big following. I'd also be all over things like the amicus giant puppet movies (Land that Time Forgot, Wargods of Atlantis, People that Time Forgot, At the Earth's Core). But yeah, the ones you listed are about the only ones that would fit in with the scream factory line, and I agree that most don't seem to be worth CEs. I don't think Monkey Shines or those three Stephen King movies are particularly good or well-loved, either...I'd like to hear commentaries from Romero on Monkey Shines/The Dark Half, but that's about it!

Overall the horror movie MGM released on DVD that I would be most interested to see on blu-ray would be Planet of the Vampires, but that's way too old to fit in with the scream factory line.

I'd like to see it since I've seen the others. I knew about an older version of Sleepaway Camp 4 that only had a few scenes shot. I have the old DVD trilogy that included it. I think it was called Sleepaway Camp: Survivor, or something like that. But it looks like Return to Sleepaway Camp is something completely different from that.

I'd love to see a collector's edition of Needful Things that includes both the theatrical cut and the extended TV cut.

So would I, but the extended cut would likely have to be SD, as the version broadcast in HD was only the theatrical cut.

I wish they'd done a Pumpkinhead double feature as opposed to individual releases for my wallet's sake.

I really want that Sleepaway Camp double feature to happen. I love parts 2 and 3. There are actually 5 now... Return is entertaining in a so terrible its hilarious sort of way and the 5th is just dreadful.
