I ordered Demons 2 on DVD last year and received Night of the Demons 2 by mistake. It wasn't a pleasant surprise. It was a slow-moving bore. Even having Amelia Kinkade in it didn't make up for it. I vaguely remember seeing it on VHS rental when it came out. Never watched the third. '90s DTV sequels don't do it for me.

Speaking of '90s DTV movies, has anyone seen The Granny? Who owns the rights to it? It was a guilty pleasure back then. Cheesy DTV movies are a lost art. I miss them sometimes.

Supposedly coming soon from Slasher // Video, but it might be DVD only. Could depend on how well Satan's Blade does (or if there's even adequate materials for hi-def)?

Republic. Olive will likely put it out, same as the second.

I'm done talking about this. It's just annoying. Playing the oblivious victim doesn't help, either. It is trolling. I've seen you bait people before on this forum.

O....k. whoa, honestly, if I knew that such off topic conversations would properly upset yourself and a few of the members on this board, I would have stopped talking about Buffy a lot sooner.

Fine, i'll talk about Buffy elsewhere, it's not an issue.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know that. I hope it is a BD. Shock 'Em Dead is a Very Bad movie.

You know what is an important book? Ulysses. You know who wrote it? James ****ing Joyce. You know how many great books he wrote? Subjectively, several. You know how many books were inspired by Ulysses that are also important and/or beloved? Dozens. Now here's the thing about Ulysses: I find it boring. Terminally so. And there's nothing that the knowledge of any of the aforementioned can do to change that for me. Enjoy things because you enjoy them not because someone else told you that they were important. It doesn't make you seem smart, it makes you seem small. There are folks on every page of this thread discussing what they do and don't like about films and television. They do it civilly, without lording it over each other. Get with it or get out. You are boring us.

It's a great companion piece to Evil Dead 2/Army of Darkness.
That scene is the first one I thought of.

I've actually been tempted to get Night of the Demons 2. I've seen the disc and it looks pretty nice. I really don't remember the third film. It's been too many years since I've seen it.

The Granny.. I remember Shannon Whirry. It's been awhile since I've seen that. I'll have to re-watch it. Agreed about the cheezy DTV movies. Seems like more often than not, cheezy has been replaced by plain old bad. Return to Nuke 'em High - vol 1 did a pretty good job though.

I suspect it's the former
It is a kids show and it was marketed towards kids (and when I say kids, I also mean teenagers and high schoolers). It's a show about a bunch of kids in high school, their personal soap opera romances and love interests, and some hokey horror/vampire stuff thrown in all the time as if it was a live-action Scooby-Do show. I suspect you were turned on to it when you were a teenager yourself.

Hey, it's very obvious you think it's the second-coming and the greatest tv-show ever made, but just because someone sees it the exact opposite doesn't mean they are insincere or an idiot. If this show inspired you to take film courses in college, good for you. I already had a film degree before this show even started airing. I was inspired by Hitchcock, Kubrick, Truffaut, Clouzot, etc. - not Buffy.

EDIT: I see we have agreed to no more talk about Buffy so this will be my final post on that topic.

Night of the Demons 2 is actually a pretty decent horror flick. It's not as good as the original by any means but how many sequels are? It is definitely worth a look if you haven't seen it or you just want to watch a fun early 90's horror movie. Night of the Demons 3 I would avoid at all costs. There was a reason there weren't any other sequels made until the remake in 2009.

This. After watching all three last month:

First is totally awesome and what I want in a halloween film. Absolutely love it.
Second is pretty good. Not as great as the first but still worth a watch.
Third is so, so bad. Watch it if your a completist but prepare for awfulness.

**Update on DOG SOLDIERS**

Sorry guys but there's been a change of plans for our upcoming Collector's Edition release of DOG SOLDIERS that we need to make you aware of...

Due to unforeseen issues on clear ownership of the rights, we are forced to move the title off of its planned August 26th release. Rest assured, we are doing everything we can to work out a solution to bring this back into our scary fold but, as of now, the street date is undetermined and there is a strong possibility of it moving to early 2015.

As always, we will keep you guys posted on any developments. Our apologies again.

Thank Jesus.

Imo, the summer was too packed anyway. This and Hellhole being "moved" make it a bit more reasonable. Whew!

No. It's coming from Scream Factory. It is in every sense of the phrase a "Scream Factory release".

They are paying for the cases, duplication, discs, artwork, sleeves, distribution, etc.

They got the rights from Code Red to release it, BUT that's it. Just like MGM, Fox, Universal, etc. Code Red only acted as the rightsholder, and as such supplied the masters, etc. (Although there's a debate that Scream may/may not have done a new transfer, but who knows)

I will give my DVD away for free, I hated part 2 that much.

The Granny lured me in with the actress on the cover wielding a shotgun (I think it was a shotgun). It is a fun movie. Reminds me of the '90s Tales From The Crypt movies in some ways. I'm sure it was shot on film. Probably even open matte for 1.78:1 format.

Scream Factory please release it!

Did Scream Factory really just reference itself as having a "scary fold"? Hmmm...

I wonder how much of the delay with Dog Soldier has to do with apparently poor original element quality insufficient for a great high definition release. I understand many of the blimishes with the original Dog Soldiers blu-ray were not due to encoding or transfer but the low budget of the film itself.

Night of the Demons 2 is surprisingly good despite some silliness. It's more campy than the first but a fun timecapsule. I hope for a Night of the Demons 3 release (which I've never seen) soon.

That's a shame if Code Red doesn't get some credit for the Evilspeak release. From apperance Code Red lavished EvilSpeak (on DVD at least) with some nice perks such as producing a brand new high definition transfer (which is more than Scream Factory does for many of it's own titles). Code Red created a new (2012) audio commentary and several interviews (Clint Howard, Don Stark, Joe Cortese). I'd like to think Code Red gets the "props" it deserves for their attention with EvilSpeak and it's likely we'll see the Code Red logo on the EvilSpeak blu-ray along with Scream Factory. I understand Scream Factory paid a lump sum for the title/features and is sending it out; but most of the grunt work seems to come from Code Red and that doesn't make the effort any less Code Red's. The artwork appears to just be the standard movie poster; just like the Code Red DVD.

Did anyone else hear about the Kickstarter last year to get a sequel to the NOTD remake? It would have been called Night of the Demons: Afterparty. The director would have been Anthony Hickox, and I believe Kevin Tenney was co-writer.
