I am really looking forward to it as well. It's not my favorite slasher, but I really do enjoy it. I love the setting of the College campus during finals week for a horror movie.

Still not sure if I should buy evil speak, it has been a long time since I last seen it. I can't wait to see Final Exam in HD.

I find Final Exam is a bit dull in parts, but it has undeniable charm and atmosphere. Evil Speak, which I reacquainted myself with recently, is a bit of a mess. Too chaotic and loud for my taste.

We are almost half way through the year and Arrow STILL haven't released any decent titles. I had a feeling that this would be a lacklustre year for Arrow.

Yeah Final Exam is very slow moving but I enjoy it. I think I won't bother getting Evilspeak at the minute.

Why are you bringing Arrow into this thread again? If you're going to come out with bollocks like that (and it really is) at least post it in the Arrow thread. Yes you're persona non grata over there, but to be honest the same will soon be true of this section as well the way you're going.

(Don't let the C-movie budget fool you, it's rare that we have a slasher movie from the co-writer of Take the Money & Run. )

Ok, I didn't mean to annoy you or anybody here. I won't mention Arrow on here again. I'm sorry.

Evilspeak has a GREAT beginning and ending but the middle can get tedious. Still, it's surprisingly better than I thought it would be. Clint Howard is always fun to watch and the satanic storyline is quite good for a low budget early 80's horror flick. I'll certainly be picking it up.

I've never seen Final Exam which I'm surprised at since I will watch almost any slasher movie. More than likely I'll pick it up beings it's Scream Factory and I try to support all their releases. Great company.

They announced two titles on their first anniversary IIRC - Crawlspace and The Beast Within. I imagine we might get a few new announcements this month.

Agreed as far as final exam is concerned. Wanted to like it, but aside from the Kool-Aid man moments (punch through the door, pop out of the barrel), thought it was fairly boring

On a side note, anyone have recommendations for top college-themed slashers? I know about The Dorm That Dripped Blood and The House on Sorority Row (thanks for the references Scream 2). It'll be my way of blowing off steam during finals week

Hmmm, let's see. What do I prefer?

Final Exam or a cool, modern reboot, like The Fog or The Thing.
The Mutilator or something hip or fast-paced, like Twilight or Underworld 12

I'll take something boring and slow-moving any day. Thank goodness for the 80's

Can we have a separate thread where people can post how boring they thought Final Exam was?

Is it just me or does it feel like it's been a long damn time since we've had a new 'Collector's Edition' title out? Can't wait to finally add some more "Scream Factory" titles to my collection later this month - mainly "Sleepaway Camp", a must, and "Nosferatu" a blind-buy on my part, good reviews have swayed me.

Maybe somewhere down the line when price drops dramatically I'll consider "Final Exam" and that other one that I've never seen before. Hell, I still need to grab "The Beast Within", "Witchboard", and "Slumber Party Massacre."

I've been revisiting "TerrorVision" a lot, I really love that retrospective they put together, it's so top notch. I always love hearing from Charles Band about anything really. If only we could get a double feature of the first two "Ghoulies" films with interviews from Charles Band, John Carl Buechler, Cleve Hall, some of the actors, the director of the first film who is also an actor who did some rather big budget stuff surprisingly and Albert Band who did part II but is no longer with us sadly, though maybe there's some archival stuff out there that we haven't seen?

Your slagging off of Arrow Films is really tiresome. Their titles this year have been great so far. I'm not sure why you even come on the Scream and Arrow threads, as you really don't seem to like cult films and have a go at anyone who loves certain films you don't. Arrow Films aren't going to release Ginger Snaps. Get over it. Scream Factory are...so just go region free and buy that version and stop annoying everyone with your 'I think I'm so superior' attitude.

No doubt! A bummer Dog Soldiers got pushed back, but it gives me something to look forward to after summer.
