Is anyone with knowledge of licensing law (US and/or UK) able to weigh in on this?

Don't forget to vote for movies you want Scream to release on Blu-ray, since I'm done with Classes, I will get to work on the other companies, but at the moment, enjoy the Scream Factory Poll.

Without being able to see the specifics of the contracts that Shout! and Arrow have agreed to, there probably is no catch-all answer to why Arrow can/will sell out of market direct and Shout! can't/won't. It might be a case of Arrow simply being more motivated to sell internationally or it might be a case where the language in Shout! Factory's contracts really is more restrictive.

My understanding is that typically companies are forced to region lock their films; but there is often no limitation on where they can ship too. I would be surprised if all Scream Factory contacts totally disallowed any internation shipping; that would seem unusual (most other botique labels ship at will wherever) and certainly not the case for ALL movies Scream Factory acquires (even if one or two ban internation shipping somehow; Scream could likely ship the others). This makes me suspect Shout is just being really conservative and electing not to satisfy international orders.

With that said one of the reasons is because we have been hard at work filming four, yes FOUR brand new episodes of Horror's Hallowed Grounds for upcoming and yet to be announced Scream Factory releases to hit DVD and Blu-ray later this year. So have no fear HHG is HERE!!! HHG the article will also return in issue #48 of HorrorHound Magazine.

BTW... I noticed that Savage Weekend was on Amazon Prime streaming now, with an MGM logo at the beginning. Would be a great title to pair up with another flick for a Blu-ray double feature, I think.

Screamtime is on there, as well, with a Manson International logo at the beginning, so not sure who would control that one.

I'd like to see both on Blu-ray, though not necessarily paired together. I just think they're more fitting for a double feature. Maybe Screamtime and After Midnight, since both are anthologies.

"Somewhat more recognizable," may be a bit of an understatement. HHG pieces, with only a few exceptions, seem to be reserved primarily for the BIG genre films of the 70's and 80's.

I agree. I still have a nagging suspicion that they'll announce Phantasm. I'm sure in the 'Choice Cuts' show they mentioned some heavy-hitters coming in October and November.
