That alone would make a good supplement feature; although it'd probably be hard to get these studios to give an objective report without over emphasizing their brand marketing with fluff.

Is there likely to be an announcement from Scream Factory with single releases of the last three Halloween sequels. I've just bought Halloween 2 and 3 and had 1, 4 and 5 so really don't want to rebuy those again as funds are tight

I'm content with my 35th Anniversary Blu-ray of Halloween (1978).

I do have a faint nostalgia for Halloween II, but I figure that the individual Scream Factory disc of that movie will suffice if I ever stumble across it for a ridiculously low price somewhere.

I don't like having films from the same series from multiple distributors so this box set will take care of that problem instantly. Only thing is, what to do with all of the different releases. I've got 3 German steelbooks (III, 4 and 5), the 35th Anniversary BD, Shout Factory's 2 entries, 2 AB's BDs and a Miramax triple pack of the rest. Phew! I probably won't get more than $40 for all this stuff combined so it's not even worth trying to unload them.

Anyone else bummed that Katharine Isabelle didn't participate at all on the Scream Factory release?

You all are being a little hard on her in here. I agree it wasn't her best performance but she does have feelings like any other human being.

I can. This is Dimension Films we're talking about here. Strangely, I thought TWC was on the verge of bankruptcy at one point...yet they still keep ticking. The only way to get another Halloween film that is any good is to have another studio get the rights.

I wonder what fad Halloween III will follow...H20 was a Scream clone, Rob Zombie's two cinematic abortions had Saw-style over the top gore. I can see them doing a cheap "found footage" style film.

She is an "actress". When you put yourself in the public eye and people pay money to see your films, they have a right to criticize you. She has a lousy attitude to boot. When The Final Destination was the #1 film and Halloween II was #3, she was very ungracious about it.

I'm willing to bet they have another box set planned for October if this year is anything like the last.

As for now, isn't it great that Anchor Bay is now willing to cooperate with other studios to put out the best product possible? I bet that if this sells as well as I think it will, other franchises won't be very far behind. Phantasm comes to mind, as does SNDN, but I imagine a set of that would only be 1,2, and the remake.

Film Aficionado shows MGM as the rights holders of Phantasm and Phantasm IV, with Anchor Bay still shown as holders of Phantasm III. A sign of things to come?

Phantasm

When the announcement broke a few weeks back it was titled "Halloween 3d". Since then the 3d moniker hasn't been mentioned, but hopefully 3d is the fad you're looking for. As far as I'm concerned every great horror franchise needs at least 1 fun 3D iteration.

Oh yes, how could I have forgotten that. The thing about 3-D films is that the 3-D takes precedence over everything else and you end up with a lousy movie underneath the effects.

Friday the 13th Part 3 is good. And I do love the hell out of Jaws 3D.

People also love House of Wax, which I haven't seen, and Creature from the Black Lagoon, which I didn't really like.
