It is well shot, but preachy. It isn't any good to me until the last twenty minutes.

Vamp is great fun. It seems to get better on each viewing for me. I'd love to see a better US Blu-Ray release that carries over the very fun Anchor Bay commentary track (which is just as entertaining as the movie itself). But can't complain about the Arrow release at all.

I went in not knowing what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. It's a unique werewolf movie. I'd say check it out.

I absolutely loved it. It's one of my personally favorite werewolf films. The cast is great and the story is fun. Opinions on it are so polarizing, I think you definitely should check it out to make your mind up.

Personally, I love it and consider it one of my three favorite werewolf films -- with the other two being The Howling and An American Werewolf in London. Unlike other werewolf movies, where a character gets bitten or scratched and transforms whenever there is a full moon, Ginger Snaps chronicles Ginger's slow physical transformation into a werewolf over the course of the movie. It doesn't have any similarities to Twilight; I would say that Ginger Snaps fits into the "body horror" sub-genre, with more similarities to Cronenberg's The Fly. It's not for everybody, though.

Speaking of The Howling, are any of the sequels worth watching? I'm DVRing II since it's the only one not on Netflix. I plan to watch that even I've heard it's pretty bad since it has Christopher Lee and it's the only direct sequel.

I think II sucked, one of the worst films Ive seen... the others also didnt sound like they'd be *winners* but tastes are all different.

I kind of like The Howling II, it's one if those it's so bad its good movies. In my opinion it's really the only one worth watching, it at least has some sort of coherence.

Please don't listen to this man.

"Howling II" is an incredible, outstanding picture in the 'so bad, it's good' genre. The theme song and band performing it in the film are must see, along with Christopher Lee in his new wave glasses. And obviously the repeated undressing of Sybil Danning.

I actually really do like "Howling II" a lot.

Give The Howling III a chance. I know most people don't like it, but it's got a sly sense of humour, decent werewolf effects and a rather original hook to the whole plot.

I've updated the Poll with the removal of the three Halloween films. keep on voting and someone tell me if I should add Anchor Bay titles to the Poll, because of this??

I would say no to the adding of Anchor Bay titles. As Scream has simply partnered with them for a co-release. No sublicensing, etc, involved.

I agree with this, I really thought it was fun when I saw it. I didn't much like II at all, I think III's sense of humor worked a little better. It's no classic or anything but it was entertaining enough that I watched it more than once and enjoyed it both times. I've never watched anything past it.

This is a very good description of it. I personally like it more than The Howling or American Werewolf in London but all the early black humor stuff and all the female coming-of-age stuff and the codependent relationship stuff worked on me like gangbusters, while I think a sizable part of the horror contingent is just not very interested in a movie that's so interested in specifically female ideas. A lot of people were bored by it or said stuff along the lines of "I don't want to watch a crappy movie about girls getting their periods." I think it's a minor classic of the genre. It's not on the level of something truly mature and horrific like May but it's really damn good for what it is, and it's very unique. It's like the goth girl edition of Cronenberg's Fly.

You lot read about the Arrow Summer blu ray launch? Shivers (Cronenberg), Night Of The Comet and Bound were some of the featured blu rays. Only Bound is the one that interests me and that's already available with decent transfers throughout Europe, though i'm sure the the Arrow transfer will be the best and have good supplemental features. So out of about 8 or so titles thats ONE that interests me. No John Carpenter films despite them saying they would be releasing at least one. No Ginger Snaps, no surprisingly or ambitious releases. Still, I guess it's a step up from the announcements they made earlier in the year.

Looks like those with access to Scream Factory titles have nothing to worry about. Keep up the good work, Scream. How I wish you wouldn't region lock your blu rays
