The list price is $79.97, same as the first set. Amazon has it up for $69.99, but it was $55.98 earlier this week. There'll be better prices elsewhere, though.

Oh snap, I didn't even realize preorders were up yet! I dropped the ball.

I'm pretty excited about it. I'll get it somewhere down the down. 80 bucks is pretty good, and I'm sure they'll be as many extras as the last one. I even bought The Fly Blu ray in preparation.

You can also preorder it directly from shout for $65 and it ships a month early. That's what I did.

I've been noticing Shout has been doing that early shipment as an incentive lately. I just received my Herzog box set the other day, earlier than they even initially said it would be shipped. It came the day after I got the shipping notice too.

The amount of extras a title gets doesn't have bearing on whether it's released as a Collector's Edition or not; it's based more on the marketability of the title. Lake Placid is a more known title than, say, TerrorVision, so that's why it gets the Collector's Edition label.

I have heard them say they like to chock the CE titles with extras. I think on one of those podcasts or sonething. It was right when Night of the Demons and Wotchboard came out, and they said something along the lines of liking to skew expectations and have non CE titles be plentiful as well when possible, (citing Witchboard and Ravenous).

In case anyone was wanting confirmation, Scream, along with Shout and Shout Kids, are indeed having a panel at Comic Con.

An Inside Look at Shout! Factory, Shout! Kids, and Scream Factory

Brian Ward (DVD producer), Melissa Boag (VP, kids & family), and Jeff Nelson (senior marketing director) give you an exclusive sneak peek at upcoming Blu-ray and DVD collector's editions and make some very special announcements. Moderated by Kyle Anderson (Nerdist).

Friday July 25, 2014 7:00pm - 8:00pm
I'd imagine these announcements will cover the larger titles for November and December, and possibly into next year.

I'll lessen my expectations this year. Last year's announcements at Comic-Con weren't the titles that got me salivating like Pavlov's Dog.

But, I have to admit that last year during comic-con's announcements, it was a blast hanging out at the forum here waiting for the titles. I remember DSMan wanting Without Warning, people guessing Sleepaway Camp, and other titles that eventually got announced. I had a lot of fun that night. Maybe there will be that level of interaction on here this year.

'Very special announcements'? Okay it's not solely a Scream panel but nevertheless I'm intrigued and excited. If they don't announce anything else before that I think we can expect something like 6-8 announcements, maybe more.

I believe all of us remember dsman's asking for Without Warning... It only stopped at the end of March...

This is true, however not all the titles Shout/Scream have put out under the Collector's Edition line have been loaded with extras. Terror Train and The Shadow are both titles that were rather underwhelming in that department, but were still labeled CEs. As I said before, it's less to do with the amount of extras (since, as what you pulled from the podcast said, they'd ideally want all their releases to be plentiful with extras; not just those designated as CEs), and more with the marketability and name recognition of the title.

My only expectation for Comic Con this year is to hear more about the other Box set they alluded to some months ago. I'm hoping for Hellraiser, (especially given the close relationship with Clive Barker these days) but plenty of others have stated it is highly unlikely, so my 2nd choice hope is for a Phantasm set. I could throw out some other guesses for title announcements, but that's not my intent... merely that I expect more info on the mystery box set.

I'd rather, should they be released, have the Phantasm films released separately since they've already released II. The first has to be a Collector's Edition but I could see III and IV as a double feature.

I agree, but the third must have another commentary, preferably one without Baldwin referring to himself in the third person and being a jealous douche.

I'd agree with you there, but with the new fifth film coming soon, and the example we're seen with the Halloween set, I would think that a box set wouldn't be out of the question.

With that said... can anyone chime in on some franchises that Scream could be planning a set for? Most of the major franchises are either accounted for or are unable to be licensed. What are some potential franchises that are in the realm of possibility?

Tales from the Crypt?

Maybe it's another theme... Perhaps a director set?

Not sure what the possibility of any of these are, even though they have released the first in a couple:

Children of the Corn
Critters
Return of the Living Dead
Sleepaway Camp
The Howling

I never asked for that movie WTF are you talking about ??? MOI ?? Nah , it couldnt be ........

I admit the comic con announcements last year was pretty meh but as it turned out Cat People was a movie I liked so it wasnt a total ho hum.
Im not sure what we can expect at this years comic con, but I would guess probably the tail end of current deals. Maybe we can get some more MGM Midnight movies like Frogs, Empire of the Ants or Tentacles ..Invaders from Mars would be primo though.. the Fly II comes to mind as well..
They are always working on deals so maybe we could get a big surprise or something....

Critters is with Warner Brothers so scratch that off the list. We could possibly see Sleepaway Camp II & III .. i know SF kept saying no the Howling II
