I don't understand the Fright Night 2 demand... but I'd say realistically, there is a 3% chance of Scream doing it.

Nostalgia for some folks, completionism for others. Personally, I just love the movie. I think it's a great followup to the original. And Julie Carmen is super hot

What's not to understand ? It's a very good sequel to the first Fright Night and has a miserable but expensive to get DVD release. I think part of the reason is that the DVD is VHS quality and fans of the film would like it in it's *OAR* (I see that term used often here) in glorious HD
It's better not to argue over ones tastes in movies since we as people all like and dislike different films.
There is a 0% chance it's coming as the film seems to be with Lionsgate - maybe fans of the film can write them .. ?

Where did they share this information?
They were talking about it on some podcast last year (can't remember which one). They said they contacted several studios, but nobody knew who had the rights.

I think they're actively trying to get the rights, and as long as the rights don't belong to a license-stingy studio, they will release it.

I have a feeling they are going to announce Army of Darkness (with 2 or 3 versions of the film - like Australia, Germany and France did).

It'd be fitting too because I just bought the Australian 5 disc (2 blu-rays 3 dvds) set of Army of Darkness this morning as it's $27.99 on JB H-Fi.
But I'd likely still buy Scream's for the new extras if they were good. I can't imagine they would use different masters.

I just couldn't resist the price (since it's normally $60+) and wanted to order it before it was too late - though I can always cancel the Australian version if Scream announce it, so win win I suppose.

There are TONS of universal titles they can/should release whenever they decide to jump back into that catalog. As it stands now however, it seems unlikely that Army of Darkness would get an announcement when there are so many othr Universal titles people have been asking for that haven't had any Blu Ray releases or even good DVD releases.

Tales from the Crypt Demon Knight/Bordello of Blood
Tales from the Hood

For instance.... I do think that it's inevitable though that eventually we'll see army of Darkness released by them.

I sort of agree but still can't shake the feeling this may actually be one of the announcements, if not for this year, then for 2015 if Shout decides to rethink their Universal strategy. I'm burned out on Army of Darkness, tbh, as it's one of those movies that keeps getting re-released over and over. The film still hasn't been released properly in the US so maybe Shout will correct that on any future release but, bottom line, there are LOTS of other titles to go after before this one IMO

Im sticking with my 10 (Dolls,Empire of the Ants, Food of the Gods, Fly II, Invaders from Mars, Scarecrows, Monkey Shines, Needful Things, From A Whisper to a Scream, New Years Evil) I noticed a few fans and members are on that same wavelength, probably because of existing deals with MGM and Fox - the choices fall into "logical guessing.. "

I do not believe we will see any Universal titles announced at Comic Con..only due to that "no more deals in 2014 " with them this year.

I still ponder if they could surprise us with someone out of right field....(phantasm, hellraiser 3)

61) "Lake Placid" - 366 NEW
62) "Deadly Eyes" - 139 NEW
63) "Ginger Snaps" - 314 NEW

Again, assuming this has any correlation with total sales, Deadly Blessing continues to be their worst CE performer by a decent margin, with Scanners II/III, X-Ray/Schizoid, EVE, Beast of Hollow/Neanderthal Man, and all of the contemporary titles bringing up the rear as well.

And despite being a year or two old at this point, The Fog and They Live still saw two of the biggest gains. Carpenter is King.

And I'm surprised by the success of titles like Lifeforce and Nosferatu. I certainly wouldn't anticipate the former outperforming The Burning and Night of the Comet, and the latter outperforming Final Exam and Evilspeak. Must be the Herzog/non-hardcore horror fans

I think my fantasy list would be comprised of the titles in my signature, so only 1 or 2 have any realistic shot

All three are Sony. The first one is with Mill Creek.

Would'nt be totally surprised if there we're some announcements out of nowhere tonight. Scream have clearly been working bts as the "Nightbreed" LE and "Halloween" show so i would'nt be surprised if they surprise us all with some titles that indicate new deals. I'm probably miles off but i've just got a feeling.I think Cliff will know if they don't in a couple of years its gonna get harder and harder to keep the "big" titles coming that resonate with the casual horror fan.

Maybe tonight we'll find out what the box set with the Miramax title(s) is supposed to be. I was hoping it would be announced last year, but the only title I'm hoping is included in tonight's announcements is Phantasm. A box set with all of the sequels would be even better, but I'd be just as happy if just the original gets announced.
