I'd buy a few of these (Monkey Shines, The Dark Half, Dolls [maybe], Mad Max, Escape from New York), but I'm also disappointed that there was no Sleepaway Camp 2 announcement.

Oh well... I'm sure I'll get it at some point.

New Year's Evil was one of the worst films I have encountered in my hey days.

Not sure if serious...Both transfers are mediocre at best.

Cliff & co. : New transfer for EFN should be mandatory. Just saying.

I don't even understand the appeal of going to Comic-Con. Seems like a tremendous waste of money. I remember going to Comic Book and Record Conventions at small rooms at a Holiday Inn and paying like $2.00 to get in. Good times.

Sorry, I don't share your opinion. Both are great looking in my opinion, I may reconsider when they fix their compression artifacts issue.

The current transfers of Escape From New York and Mad Max are way better than most transfers that Scream Factory have used on their Blu-rays. The best that you can hope for is the same transfers with minimal compression issues.

I'd really love to see someone do a Special Edition of Needful Things with the extra hour or so of added footage that was shown on TNT.

Also, like to see a BD of 'Salem's Lot. The FULL 210 min. version that aired in '79.

Frogs would be nice too. Maybe John Carpenter's Someone's Watching Me.
Agree on all counts here. Especially Salem's Lot. That movie is TERRIFIC. I own the DVD and it's barely mediocre. It so badly needs an upgrade with special features to go along with it. Having recently read the book for that as well as Needful Things both of these would make perfect SF releases.

Dark Half though, I just watched it on Netflix and IMO it didn't hold up at all from the last time I watched it many years ago on VHS and before that, the theater. But nice to see it coming to Blu nonetheless

If they just add a couple of talking-head interviews to Escape from New York and don't give it a new 2 (or 4) k transfer, I'll stick with the pre-existing disc (and my SE DVD for the extras). I already have the UK disc of Dolls, so New Year's Evil and Invaders from Mars are the only two for me.

Agreed. Mad Max is really bizarre, since the collection is REALLY good and didn't come out THAT long ago.

I'm not expecting new transfers, which is why I'm not very interested in them.

A new transfer for EFNY would be the only way I'll double dip. There's already a terrific SE wwith great extras. Snazzy packaging and a couple of additional talking head interviews won't be enough to buy this movie again. Same with Mad Max

I'm down for all of the newly announced Scream titles. Some are double dips, some are never owns, but all are at least decent movies. The most interesting of the bunch are the Romero's which were previously only available as full screen DVDs.

There is a good 6/7 i want out of those announced but most will be as and when i have the money rather than day one buys. Hope there are some good features esp a commentary on POTO to make me double dip. Shame there are no wow factor titles for me though, thought "Phantasm" was a shoe in with all the guesses on here. Also don't really see where they may be 4 Horrors Hallowed Grounds eps in those titles so maybe there for the autumn announcements. Least there is a little bit of something fr everyone in those titles.

I got 5 out of the 10 right. To the few people complaining, these titles (aside from Mad Max, which came right out of nowhere) are what have been begged for. I,am satisfied, but not having seen Max yet, I have to ask, why Scream? Is it because its a post-apocalyptic enviornment?

The current MGM BD has the original audio, does it not?

Maybe not significant, but MGM still has:

Once Bitten (1985)
Ghoulies (1985)/Ghoulies II (1987)
Troll (1986)
From a Whisper to a Scream (1987) aka The Offspring
Poltergeist III (1988) Still no US release

House Where Evil Dwells, The (1982)
Howling II (1985)
Breeders (1986)
After Midnight (1989)
Edge of Sanity (1989)

I've tried to put House Where Evil Dwells and Edge of Sanity out of my memory.

I suppose there's also I Madman, Night Visitor and one or two others. I could see Scream putting out From a Whisper to a Scream, the two Ghoulies films, Howling II, Poltergeist III, Breeders and perhaps Edge of Sanity at some point. It would be useful if we made a couple of MGM/UA lists - one with horror/borderline SF titles still awaiting a Blu-ray upgrade in North America, and the other with titles previously unreleased on DVD.

Ooh, I, Madman I totally forgot about! Damn, and I really want that one, too! Night Visitor, for some reason I thought it was from 1990, so I left it off.

I just got this from Amazon brand new for $18 via Prime. It's region free and the PQ/AQ is nice. I don't believe this will ever be release in the US as the movie is considered the worse in the trilogy and didn't do good business when it originally came out.

I'd buy the first 3 day 1.
