Well, The Blob will have features. The Legend of Billie Jean does too.

In the Shout line, if we are lucky?

What dsman said. But things have changed. Phantasm 1,3,&4 are not with Anchor Bay anymore and have returned to the caring hands of Don Coscarelli.

Rumor is Anchor Bay may be losing it's rights to access the Phantasm films (or has already) suggesting they are potentially available to other studios more willing to release in high definition. The Phatasm movies have been removed from Anchor Bay's website further suggesting loss of rights.

With a new Phantasm movie in the works for 2015, it'd be a poor move to release the other films too early but with luck we'll see something around the new movie's timeframe.

Theyve shot it down all year long. But when license holders change ; things can change. I think eventually Phantasm will get a blu ray release.

Since when has something that has been shot down by Shout actually meant anything?

The Phantasm films have a large following. Unlike Halloween, Hellraiser, and other franchises, which have been re-released multiple times, the Phanatasm series has yet to be mined for BD, which makes it an even more attractive property to acquire - it's just a matter of time. Potential sales could break all kinds of records IMO.

A standalone release of Ravager would tide me over until a box set comes out

I agree! I love the look of the German release. Fantastic cover art.

At the time yes, but as time marched on, the shot down no's became announced..we got Motel Hell, Pumpkinhead and Without Warning which is why I feel in due time, Phantasm will come out. It might not be today, tomorrow or this year but I can see it happening. And it might not even be Scream Factory who releases it !
It hasnt happened yet because the studios that want Phantasm simply cant get it. It just comes down to licensing agreements and if a deal can be struck. It would be a good seller as would a Phantasm box set.

Man I'll never understand all the Phantasm love. Watched it for the first time the other night and thought it was pretty meh. It had a couple atmospheric moments but just too much out of this world cheesy moments. Plus the ending is completely incoherent. 5/10

What you call meh some/many call *awesome* - it depends on ones tastes. I like the creepy atmosphere of the first one. The unexplained origins is part of the charm to me

Here's the one thing I think most would agree with here. SCREAM releases mostly films that a lot of us grew up and loved at such a young age that it really doesn't matter how good a film it actually is because I am betting had we watched a few of them for the first time, we would probably dismiss most if not all. I mean...DOLLS is a perfect example and one I will definitely be buying, but that doesn't mean it's good. I just remember loving it as a child and that makes me be in a happy place.

Weird, I have been on a mini Phantasm marathon watching part 1 on Sunday night and 2 last night. Will be watching 3 tonight. At first I thought the original was slow and a bit odd, but every time I watch again, the cooler it gets. Part 2 was faster paced, more gore, etc....On to part 3 tonight

If only there were three more movies to elaborate on the "incoherent" moments.

I wish you luck. As of now, Part 3 is my least favorite by a considerable margin. There is just something about it. It's not mysterious and creepy like 1&4 or fun and exciting like 2.

And I am so happy that we're looking to get a Phantasm 5 soon

I like your list. Would get all, but never heard of Perfect Creatures. When I looked it up all I could find was a vampire flick from 2006 called Perfect Creature. Is that the movie?

I imagine they would shy away from the Jeepers Creepers movies because of the Salva backlash. I would, but I refuse to see any of his movies, personally.

Hey you don't have to be sarcastic. Also, I did look it up and from what I read it's still all jumbled up and if I didn't really like the first why would I want to watch 3 more sequels? I might give them a try out of curiosity but I'm not going to watch 3 full films just to try and understand the original.

On a side note: I love DOLLS and will definitely be buying it

When it comes to horror, sequels are a crapshoot. People who hate House of 1000 Corpses love The Devil's Rejects. I hate The Gate but really liked Gate II. I also don't really like the first Evil Dead, but think that the two sequels are both near the high ponts of 1980s & 1990s horror. What I am saying is, give at least the second a chance. Sorry for the snark.
