Still no word on extras for the Nightbreed limited edition?

If the Halloween Complete Deluxe [15 disc] set is "sold out" on Shout's website, where is the next most reliable place to order it?

Phantoms is alright, but nothing I am dying for. I really just like it because I love movies where it's based on a small group of people trying to survive something much larger than what they think...ala THE THING.

The Last Winter is a movie that deserves a little more attention than it got. I loved the atmosphere and acting and the storyline interested me. I think it's available in another country.

I picked up the Scream Factory Blu-ray of John Carpenter's The Fog earlier today, because I was out doing work audits in the neighborhood near an independent record store that stocks Scream titles. I was sort of hoping that the store would have Without Warning on the rack already, since they sometimes sell items early, but no such luck.

I haven't revisited The Fog in a decade or so, and I'm looking forward to checking out the new transfer this weekend.

I actually finished watching this on DVD a few weeks ago after I found it for £2.00. Still a great little series, the guy that plays Andre Linoge did a great job, he still creeps me out.

Yeah. I like how it looks beaten and ruffled, something they haven't done since Deadly Blessing.

As far as alternative art goes, I like it!

On a personal note, I just purchased another Scream Factory title for my collection with credit at our local Hastings.

I purchased Deadly Eyes over Ginger Snaps. I feel sorta nuts, but has anyone else been unimpressed with Ginger Snaps? Maybe I need to watch it again; everyone seems to think so highly of it, and I'm even a big werewolf fan.

The idea of seeing dogs dressed up as rats in a cheesy 'animals on the loose' just seemed so much more awesome.

No shame in your game. Deadly Eyes is a fun Scream Factory Blu-ray.

Deadly Eyes is a good little popcorn movie, and it gets a lot more respect on the Scream disc than one would imagine. The dogs-dressed-as-rats thing really doesn't bother me while I'm watching the film, because the special effects are actually halfway decent. The only thing that I notice, and it is also addressed by one of the cast members in an interview, is that the rats run with a gallop in the same way that dachshunds run with a gallop, but this does not detract from the illusion. I buy the notion that these are big mutant rats who don't like us.

Deadly Eyes also looks stellar on the Blu-ray as far as picture quality goes. There's a little bit of distortion during some early dialogue, but the sound is fine after that.

I've never seen Ginger Snaps. I'm 42 years old, and that particular movie came out after my time, so to speak. I'm sure that it's a good flick, based on what I've read over the years, but I don't have the same nostalgic yearning for it that I do for the 1980s Scream Factory titles that used to intrigue me by way of their TV trailers and such back in the day.

Nice cover, Nathan is quite a talented artist.

Deadly Eyes looks better than any bootleg DVD fans held on to.

Not terrible artwork I guess. I wish someone would tell this Nathan Thomas Milliner that sometimes less is more.

I thought about that, lol. But maybe he could at least explain why the obsession with the movie. Sometimes seeing a movie from a strong proponents' point-of-view is incredibly helpful. (Of course this might be more appropriate in the Ginger Snaps Thread...)

I don't find either of the leads attractive at all, so maybe that's what I'm missing?

In any event, to echo Owls' helpful post, while I haven't yet seen deadly Eyes, movies of it's ilk still take me back to the USA movie marathons on Saturdays; I don't have any nostalgic attachment to Ginger Snaps, and I find more and more, that nostalgia is the primary factor in my movie purchases.

(And Owl, if you ever do give Ginger Snaps a go, I'd be very interested to hear what you think of it. I really respect your film opinions and love the reviews. Thanks! )

Ginger Snaps made me uncomfortable watching it. Some of the gore in a way hit close to *real* life (outside of the fictional werewolf bites) . I hope I am not alone here, but I am thoroughly disgusted seeing characters vomit, this film had like three scenes of regurgitating *action* Not for me. I just find it repulsive and unfunny (if you've eaten spoiled food or something you will understand this better)
It was just a bit too much for this viewer ! Hence I will never ever watch Sid and Nancy ever again either
