It's a pretty hard PG-13, though. As I recall,
[Show spoiler] a couple of people get murdered (one is stabbed, the other is hanged from a tree) and a girl is raped.

Yeah, hard PG-13 is an accurate description.

I'd like to see these two lost horror flicks that have failed to ever make it to dvd get a Scream Factory release. Even if it's just part of one of those 4 movie collections.

i felt deadly eyes was definitely more epic

Yes, it was. This is actually a decent horror flick. And it was supposed to be released by Code Red at one time.

Bill claims he has the rights to everything.
Then someone else releases it (The Visitor, Popcorn, Raw Force, etc) and he gets mad.
But he doesn't sue, he just rants on facebook...
That might lead an intelligent person to assume he never had the rights to begin with...

[Show spoiler]I genuinely think that sometime he's just saying he has it so no one will go after it, giving him time to try to get a title. And then the reason it never comes out is because he couldn't obtain the rights? Essentially pre-mature announcements. (Like Slayer, its the most wanted slasher that's never been released, why wasn't this announced/released ASAP? Instead of him saying he has it when someone casually brings it up as a facebook request?)

There was a discussion on this title just the other day in the Code Red facebook page. It seems that negotiations were underway for this to be released in 2013/2014, however neither the rights holders nor anyone involved were ever able to locate the negatives or a 35mm print. At this point in time, it's a film lost to time that won't ever have a BD upgrade until someone comes forward with a workable print, or the negatives are located. Neither of which seem likely, but certainly not impossible either.

I don't know if he necessarily said he owns it, he just said that he had 35mm prints for use.

But I get what you were saying, and I somewhat agree.

Start preparing for next Halloween already. WB is licensing to Twilight Time now. You never know what they could get in the horror genre.

I've only seen the first half on cable, but it played like an unabashed fan-imitation of Sam Raimi's over-the-top Evil Dead vibe.
I'd say "It has Scream Factory written all over it", but it doesn't seem like enough of a cult classic yet to merit that. Even if it was possible.

If Scream still has the rights to Grotesque from the Roger Corman Vampires, Mummies, and Monsters Collection, I'd like to see them possibly upgrade it to blu like they did with Slumber Party Massacre.

That's too bad. I would have been all over a Code Red blu of Demon Wind.

The DVD was fullscreen, so I'm assuming they don't have the elements to work with. Same goes for The Outing.

I was very pleasantly surprised when I picked up that Vampires, Mummies, and Monsters set though. This new version has a lot of scenes that are missing from the Media VHS I grew up watching. One that comes to mind was the girls going through the drive-thru at Burger King. Not exactly riveting stuff there, but as a fan of the film, it was a treat to see these new scenes. It also has the extended ending that supposedly aired on the USA Network TV version (the VHS ends with the punks locked in the room).

I have to wonder, maybe Shout does have a print of the film but it's missing these extended scenes? If it played theatrically, I imagine it'd have been the same version as the Media VHS. I think this was the same issue they had with Slumber Party Massacre III, they had a film print for use but it was missing the unrated footage.

I know Cliff said they wouldn't release anymore TV Terrors because of low sales but I wouldn't mind another All Night Horror Marathon DVD set. Not sure how well those sold but there's some fun titles on there; The Vagrant and The Outing specifically. It'd be good for titles they don't think would turn out all that well on blu ray.

The Gate is PG-13 and The Gate rocks!
It's not lame. If you ever get the chance, check it out. It may surprise you and as it was already mentioned, it is a hard PG-13.
