There's a movie called Body Parts with Jeff Fahay and Kim Delany I hope SF will get rights to the title in the future.

Paramount again. So no.

If it were released uncut, which will probably never happen, I'd buy it. The uncensored car crash scene is very memorable.

i watched Savage Harvest on youtube last night, for someone mentioning it on here back in feb. that was a fun flick... i would love to see a blu of that from some one, any one. i was just bummed that there wasnt as big a body count as the artwork would make you think... but it was still tense, and fun, and crazy, and everything a good movie should be

I've been hoping for ages that Scream Factory or some other company will release Savage Harvest (1981). I saw it on HBO when I was a kid, and it really freaked me out. Lions are scary creatures! The movie actually has a recognizable case (Tom Skerritt, Michelle Phillips, etc.).

As funny as it seems, Savage Harvest was one of my early introductions to the music of The Beatles.

You can't cut that Beatles scene, since it culminates in a lion attack and it would ruin the whole build-up. A real shame as it's great fun, with some very convincing looking attacks.

i can't remember now. i remember i wanna hold your hand, it was like 4 beatles songs. which in hindsight is the worst musical decision ever because it costs like a bazillion dollars to license one beatles song, much less 4.

They sang "All You Need Is Love" and "I Want To Hold Your Hand." Maybe one or two more, but I cannot remember.

The characters in Savage Harvest are singing the songs while they are holed up in a house to take their minds off the fact that the house is surrounded by lions wanting to eat them.

What aggravates me about the music rights issue is that The Beatles themselves are not singing the songs, to the best of my recollection (and it's only been 32 years since I saw this movie). It's the characters who are singing the songs. Lyrics are lyrics, though, I guess.

Wonder if lyrics are cheaper to license than songs...

And there is no way to cut the scene, or dub it. If you cut it, you lose a lion attack scene and the build up of it, if you dub it, it will look worse than a kung fu film, and will destroy the suspense scene and Tom Skerritt will complain his lips arent syncing up.

As for the use, I am sure use of Beatles song for theatrical and TV run only in 1981 wasnt that expensive, for they probably didnt take home video into account. It never came out on Fox VHS ever.

And, not to be a stickler, but "Happy Birthday" isn't a Public Domain song.

There is an ongoing court case regarding the song. In 2030 it'll go full public domain despite the court ruling even if they were to decide in Warners favor.

Only issues are the bottom of the casing is damaged as hell and who knows where to find a clear two-disc holding Viva case? Also the guy never mentioned to me that it's a promo copy like one they give out to reviewers, I found this out immediately when I saw the bar code punched out.

Edit - By the way, I'm about to have an all out Crazy Eddie style free give away of all my current UV codes I'm holding onto at the moment so if you're interested, keep eyes on the Trading section of the forum.
I was unable to find any clear Viva cases for sale anywhere on the Internet. The only ones that seem to come up in a search are Vortex cases. This is about the best deal I was able to find on these, 6 for $9.99 with free shipping:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-Pk-VORTEX-...item2a2f69c351

Hope this is of some help.

i even looked for a copy on beta, not even that i could find. guess i'll just have to make my own. there is a full screen version from VHS on youtube with absolutely abysmal color timing, and asian subs of some sort, and a ws crop of the fs crop, in spanish, with pretty good color and detail, for 360p lol. so i'll just put them both in premiere pro, and sync the english language to the spanish video, make a cover, and burn the sucker, to put on my shelf.

yeah, i was that fascinated with the movie

edit: apparently the spanish version is the international cut, and the english version is the us cut. there are more longer scenes of violence in the international cut, so the editing process will be trickier. challenge accepted.
