lol!!! you just reminded me of that scene from the film!!! While the movie is entertaining, the "all you need is love" sequence is horrifying in all the wrong ways!!!

I am very happy regarding Scream Factory's blu-ray announcement for Stuart Gordon's "Dolls" this upcoming November. Hopefully Castle Freak isn't that far behind!

Castlefreak has been available for a year or two now from Full Moon in the US and 88 films in the UK. Scream isn't likely to touch that one anytime soon if ever.

Sorry about that. Thanks. I was able to find them here:

http://www.pcx.com.au/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductId=2828

From Australia - though the shipping cost may not be worth it. They will e-mail a quote regarding such. Unfortunately, this is about all I can come up with.

I'd say the point of offering to ship it early is = Shout Factory would rather sell it themselves (more profit), as opposed to letting someone else (like Amazon) sell it (less profit).

Sounds right to me, I dont mind it all, because the profits they make go back into the *deal pool* and maybe one day some of those harder or more expensive titles to license could wind up with them. Money talks so if they can wave a few thousand more to a studio for some films then Im all for it
Scream would be my first choice for licensing Fright Night II, Phantasm, Rawhead Rex & Blood Beach They just seem to *fit* really well with their releases. I know what the situations are right now are with the titles but as we have all seen what is a no today can be a yes tomorrow, depending on the title. I really want Scream to pursue Godzilla 1985 when it becomes available. That will be a huge money maker for them (or any studio that releases it)

As for the use, I am sure use of Beatles song for theatrical and TV run only in 1981 wasnt that expensive, for they probably didnt take home video into account. It never came out on Fox VHS ever.
@ ScorpionReleasing, are you guys acquiring Fright Night Part II, Blood Beach, The Food of the Gods, Empire of the Ants, Tentacles, Warlords of Atlantis, Wolfen or Innocent Blood?

Really wish you guys, or Scream Factory, would get The Brood. I purchased the Criterion blu of Scanners, but they used one of the worst cover art, I've ever seen.

btw, you guys do an amazing job! Very happy customer!!

WOW!!! That is an awesome cover! Thanks for the heads up! I'm shocked, that Criterion didn't use the iconic, original poster art.

I just ordered Scream Factory's upcoming The Doctor and the Devils. I had no idea it was being released! Nice surprise. They have it for $19.99, plus free shipping. And if you preorder, they'll ship it two weeks in advance.

I watched this one the night before it was announced. TCM had aired it a few days prior. I was looking forward to it, but was a little let down. I did enjoy Pryce getting weird with his role, and some of the shots were beautiful, but I found most of it pretty dull.

Interesting how Mel Brooks was the producer behind the thing. That was the theme of the TCM night-it was films Mel Brooks produced and had a hand in. They also showed Anne Bancroft's "Fatso," which was pretty good. Had a bit of a Marty feel. But I digress.

Wolfen & Innocent Blood are both WB, who Scorpion doesn't work with. The Brood is Criterion.

Rawhead Rex is so goofy/bad that although I'm sure Scream Would give it a great package, I think it'd fit in better with Code Red's oddball assortment of films. Rawhead Rex is only a step or 2 above Nail Gun Massacre as far as I'm concerned. (Make no mistake, I'd gladly snatch it up from anyone that releases it though )

Interesting comment - I will chime in and ask -- do you feel Code Red could afford to license Rawhead Rex ? They are but a small little studio that seems to sell 300 copies of movies. That cannot be anymore with his blu ray movies, but Mr. Olsen seems to always mention poor sales on his posts. Rawhead Rex might be a expensive title to purchase but I do not know this for a fact, and if he did get it , would the film do well under his outfit ?

I honestly have no idea what the asking price for Rawhead Rex would be. The fact that Clive Barker is attached to it leads me to think it would cost more then your average underground title, but I can't imagine it could possibly be that much. With that said I do think you're right though in that its probably outside of their budget. However with Scorpion releasing Sorority House Massacre soon, it certainly seems plausible that Raw Head Rex could see a Blu Ray release as (in my head) I'd assume they'd be similarly priced.

But I really don't have any knowledge on the subject and am basing everything on pure speculation. Maybe we can get lucky and have Scorpion Releasing chime in on the costs associated with their releases and whether Rawhead Rex would even be in the same ballpark as the titles that have come before.

yeah, i was that fascinated with the movie

edit: apparently the spanish version is the international cut, and the english version is the us cut. there are more longer scenes of violence in the international cut, so the editing process will be trickier. challenge accepted.
Please keep us posted on this, I'm very interested
