So, anyone have any guesses at the "biggie" movies that may be announced at horrorhound weekend?

I'd say definitely "The Howling", "The Fog, and "The Burning". Most likely "Scanners", and "Prom Night II". Anyone else wanna weigh in on what they hope gets announced?

Ive been drawn in to check out a lot of these not well known B titles..
Im looking into renting or buying really cheap VHS tapes of Prison, Death Valley, Godsend, Horror Hospital and Schizoid
I love supporting SF but I have to like a movie to own it. I never buy films just because its released from a particular distributor

As you all know, we announced that FROM BEYOND is coming to our 'Factory' next year as a Collector's Edition which means newly designed key art and the reverse image which includes the original theatrical key art...or does it in this case??

We have two great options presented to us on this release, but we/you can only choose one. The original theatrical key art OR artwork that was designed by Producer Charles Band during original pre-sales of the film (and also used on the prior MGM DVD release).

So tell us your favorite! Come back to our Facebook page in a few moments and take our poll. A) Original Theatrical Art or B) Charles Band Art.

Here's the link to the poll on Facebook.

Anyone not voting A?

True horror fans would always kill for original theatrical poster art as the cover art for the video/disc release, so the obvious answer and winner will be the first ("A") option.

By the way, check out Arrow's future UK release of "Deadly Blessing" apparently it will be a special edition and also feature the DVD - https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Deadl...Blu-ray/58515/

That's a shame. "A", while being the movie poster, is kinda generic. If given a choice, I always prefer artwork over a generic photo image.

Are there people who actually like that God-awful MGM DVD artwork? That thing is hideous! I don't remember seeing any virtual reality in the film

I agree... I never liked that artwork. I'm sure whatever the new artwork Scream Factory comes up with will be awesome though and be the art I would rock anyway.

The UK title was "X-Ray", and the only country that used the title "Hospital Massacre" was the US - so it makes since that they would want to finalize the title so that no one would be calling it different names. Like if they released "The Horror Show", would they just call it "House 3: the Horror Show" to avoid confusion from non-american fans?

It just doesn't make sense to me that they would release a film by an alternate title that isn't known as well as the original title, at least in the USA - which is where their releases are sold exclusively?

I'm with you buddy. I hated the cover for the From Beyond DVD. That was an ugly cover.

There are alternate posters that inter-change the artwork and the titles. That shouldn't have mattered. I don't mind the title "X-Ray" though. Its just that its strange is all. 'X-Ray' could be anything, but everyone knows 'Hospital Massacre' is a horror flick. :?

** "Night of the Living Dead" (1960's version) was just announced as the first blu-ray title through RADON RELEASING. They say it'll be coming in mid 2012 (july-ish probably).
Its supposed to be single disc with no specs confirmed other than widescreen formatting will be done. They also announced a follow-up release of "Caymen Island Man" and "Uniform" but they're not horror...

Came across this in an article, it was on a different forum. I'll look for a link if possible. There isn't any news on blu-ray.com as of now though...

Nevermind. All 3 fake. There have been a lot of fake bd horror announcements in the wake of Scream! Factory's frequent announcements, hasn't there?

Thumbs up

Pretty stoked for TerrorVision on Blu-ray!!

So happy it isn't a 'DVD only' title!

It seems that Scream Factory's mind control is working, The Video Dead wasn't on my 'to buy' list but it looks like I will have to own it now

To be honest, TerrorVision could have been paired up with anything and I still would have bought it

If "Horror Show" gets released please don't call it "House III". I'm still pissed that I rented the tape back in the day thinking it was the third chapter in the House series, only to be completely horrified it had nothing to do with it
Seriously, they should make another House movie and call it House 3 to make up for the missing entry

I like the "X-Ray" title and poster version of the film. I'm thinking that's just the title Shout has decided to go with for their release. May not necessarily mean it'll be the cut version. I trust Shout will do everything they can to produce the longest version possible. The best thing about these announcements IMO is the possibility of (hopefully) getting fully uncut versions of the films on Blu-ray. Everything else, extras, artwork, etc, is secondary.

If Godsend/X-Ray/Schizoid ends up being DVD-only, it'll be my first DVD purchase in three years, but it will be bought with a heavy heart..
