Wouldn't it be easier to just purchase the slips off of ebay? I've seen just about all the slips at one time or another for sale on either this board or ebay. Where did you order from that didn't include the slips? It's always a crap shoot, but I'm still interested in hearing where people did (and didn't) have luck with them.

Check the slipcover thread on this site. I have majority of the SF slips for sale as I am no longer keeping mine. I actually still have Terror Train and Phantasm II for sale.

For the past two years, December has been a pretty quiet month. Last year it was The Beast Within, Crawlspace, and Saturn 3. The year before was The Island and Death Valley. Going by those releases, we probably won't get any collector's editions until January. But I think, based on what's already been announced, New Year's Evil would make a good December title along with either Candyman 2 and/or a surprise title.

Empire of the Ants would be primo !!
I do have a soft spot, for Angry Red Planet, due to it's weirdness. I love the red filtered lighting, the creatures and the bizarre sound effects.

Ahhhh. To bad about Piedras Blancas. If Paramount owns it, they'll never try to attempt a restoration, OR release. I'm shocked they still have not released King Kong (1976), even though it's been available overseas, for years.

I'm really hoping that Scream Factory, can somehow get their hands, on The Day of the Triffids (1963)!!!

There was a post somewhere about it being too expensive to restore the film and would not look very good anyway. It would take a studio willing to spend and take sufficient time to create an HD master for it

As far as Midnite Movies go, I'd also like to see Scream Factory handle these...

Panic in Year Zero (1962)
This is such a great movie that really captures that whole "society is just three square meals away from total anarchy" vibe associated with apocalyptic scenarios.

Island of Dr. Moreau (1977)
Burt Lancaster and Barbara Carrera. Yeahhhh!

It! The Terror from Beyond Space (1958)
I cannot say enough good things about this one. It's mainly recognized today as a precursor to Ridley Scott's Alien, but it's fun to watch on its own terms and not just as a cinematic history footnote.

For those who import, 101 Films will be releasing this in September in the UK.

But I've seen several complete videos of Piedras Blancas, on several sites including Youtube, and the movie looks fine. All it needs a good cleanup.

I think they may have been from VHS releases.

I can't believe that they can't find at least one decent copy.

Its really only the horror part of my collection where i'm botherd about slips, non-horror it doesn't bother at all.

Are Lord of Illusions and Hellhole ruled out for December?

Lord of Illusions is still on schedule for December as of a week or two ago. Hellhole is 2015 at the earliest.

Lord was originally pushed back to December or 2015, but they've since confirmed it for December.

So Lake Placid gets a slipcover but Without Warning doesn't? There's no justice in this world

I agree, but maybe the costs to restore do not justify it. I had the vhs for Republic years ago. I don't really know what it can be, but it is with Paramount. Perhaps studios feel black and white classics will not sell so they don't bother.

I don't think Scream Factory is granting full "Collector's Edition" treatment to films that have been out of circulation since the VHS / Laserdisc era anymore. On the plus side, the MSRP was lower.
