I second Bubba Ho-Tep. Though I have a strong feeling it will see the light of day eventually, it has a passionate fanbase who would buy it in an instant.

I'm still pulling for more Universal releases myself. I'd love it if The People Under the Stairs receives a SF release in a year or so (if The Shadow is any example), or The Serpent and the Rainbow.

People Under the Stairs and Serpent and the Rainbow are two titles I'd love to see released by Scream with some neat special features.
Hope they'll consider it one day.

Was the mystery of why Universal couldn't be bothered to include the same extras they did on their own dvd/hd-dvd release ever solved? Just because Universal?

not sure at all. but the BD only has the trailer i believe, if that, and 135-kajillion language tracks. if that can be counted as special features.

Just binged a bunch of SF titles and I found Beneath to be a pleasant surprise. Was nothing like what I thought it'd be going in but I enjoyed the psychological conflict. Scarecrows was good, but I felt that it missed some opportunities. Deadly Eyes was fairly meh. Phantom of the Paradise was good but its not my kind of film.

It's weird how divided that one is. You either love it or just accept its existence, say it's not for you, and move on. I have never heard anyone say that they hated it.

Out of the ones I currently own:

Phantasm II
Night of the Comet
Night of the Demons

Lifeforce, They Live and The Howling are also great. Really hard to choose. And so many I've yet to pick up.

You're in for a real treat. Assault on Precinct 13 is my favorite John Carpenter film.

This movie really freaked me out when I saw it at the age of 11 back in 1983. For a few months after, I was terrified at the mere mention of street gangs.

I understand that the actress was 18 or so when the movie was filmed, but she looks as though she's about 14 in the film, and the ick factor of that kept taking my mind out of the story. She starred in a Miami Vice episode years later, though, and I recognized her from the show right away when I watched this movie.

Probably just re-issues in time for Halloween. Maybe they'll have a new slipcover or card on the front.

I ordered Pumpkinhead yesterday. Man I can't wait, its a favorite of mine and am glad to see it getting a great treatment.
