yeah, the Criterion version is a Japanese horror flick that came out in the 70's... it's eccentric and bizarre

then there's the 1980's House with William Katt that has all the lame sequels..

they have nothing at all to do with each other...

Does anyone know if Scream Factory sends out shipping notifications? Never ordered from them before this week and ordered Monday from their Shocktober Sale and haven't heard or received anything.

I don't believe so. I just looked through my email archives and didn't turn anything up

They do, most of the time anyway. Although I have gotten mine the same day my item showed up.

I was able to turn up a single shipping email from them, for Prince of Darkness, sent by "Sales Temp"

If they're doing confirmation now, it must be a recent(ish) change

And in Italy, The Evil Dead is called "La Casa" (The House), and House II The Second Story is considered "La Casa 6" in their crazy naming scheme.

They sure do or go to MyExpressCheckout and you will see all of your orders once you log on. I get shipping emails every time that I order from them

Thinking of an October scream factory purchase. can't decide between Terror Train or Prince of Darkness. Haven't seen either in a long time. Was never a huge fan of Prince when I first saw it, but thinking maybe i'll give it another look.

Thoughts?

Every single shipping notice I've ever received from them has arrived the same day that my Item arrived at my home. So, yes they send notices, but typically it's not until well after the item has already shipped.

I just realized what High Spirits could have been paired with instead of Vampire's Kiss (which makes no sense): Haunted Honeymoon. Similar theme of hauntings and relationships in a horror comedy.
Vampire's Kiss should have been a stand alone.

The sequels, that is.

Both the Japanese and Katt Houses, though, are worth seeking out.

I'd have paired it with another Neil Jordan, but putting Steve Guttenberg on the same disk with The Company of Wolves, would be just................wrong.

I'm excited for both. Both titles carry more weight based on Name recognition alone than many of the other Scream Factory releases. The quality may be iffy, but I consider both titles Big releases and will happily purchase them asap.

Maybe for you, but not for me . They shipped mine on Tuesday, got an email that evening notifying me, even though I saw it in myexpresscheckout. Who knows how their system works

I hated Prince of Darkness the first time I watched it, the acting was so bad and the effects were lackluster and I was just confused by what was going on. The second time I loved it, the insane plot just amused me to no end and I even thought it had some effective shocks and the incredibly unfunny comic relief guy didn't bug me as much and I was more conscious of Alice Cooper's role. It's such a distinctive and weird movie that I think it's a must-own.

I liked Terror Train quite a bit, but I would definitely suggest Prince of Darkness over it.
