Ok, at this point there is absolutely no way that they couldn't of been able to release Kingdom of the Spiders when they had the rights. Argh!

They just confirmed on Facebook that phantasm isn't one of the new titles.

I wonder if there will be anything close to a heavy hitter title announced this month? I just can't get excited about any of this, really.

My guess is no since they said there'd be no Collector's Edition announcements for the rest of October.

But we shall see.

Well we know it isn't Phantasm or Blood Beach that's for sure. Phantasm shot down again. I forgot why Phantasm is so elusive, is it with Anchor Bay or rights limbo..

Would Needful Things count as a heavy hitter ? It seems like these will all be MGM releases so what's out there that would be a *major* title from them..
There could be a major title but not a collectors edition ? Who knows
(of course there is the element of surprise)

I wish they had paired Reptilicus with another film from the same era, like Yongary (or been given its own disc with both the AIP and the Danish cuts), as Tentacles really should have been kept with its fellow 1977 DVD co-feature, Empire of the Ants.

Honestly, compared to the weak sauce that these release announcement have been, I'd consider a Poltergeist II-III double feature to be a "heavy hitter" by comparison. Seriously. My bar is lowered at this point.

That is disappointing. That must be why they are announcing so many title this month since there is likely no "big" titles that will be announced.

I guess they might have reached the point were it is getting really difficult for them to acquire big titles. I hope not.

I fully expect them to release Deranged at some point, but then I would have thought that would get a CE, so maybe it might not be announced this month?

That's what I'm thinking. Or it might not get the CE treatment.

Or something. Who knows!
