Would love to see them release Cherry Falls and Terror Tract from 2000... either as a double or solo releases. Anyone know who has the rights? I know USA Entertainment released a now out of print DVD but wondering if anyone knows who owns the rights.

Thanks,

Thanks,
@Universal. Shout may have access if Universal lifts the current no licensing hold.

A post from Scream Factory : No more titles announced this month

Sorry to break this to you guys but we will not be announcing more titles this week as originally planned.

We had a couple more highly-requested films lined up for a reveal on Halloween but, unfortunately, the deal for them is not signed yet and we need to also look at the film masters and some other particular nuances on the releases before we can make an official announce. As soon as they're cemented better, we'll let you guys know.

Although we were thrilled to announce 21 titles already this month (listed below), we're admittedly disappointed that we can't share with you this week some of the others we had up our sleeves all the same. And, as always, we are still working on acquiring much more for the next year so stay tuned!

COMING SOON IN 2015 ON BLU-RAY:

- Scarecrows / Destroyer double feature
- Love at First Bite / Once Bitten double feature
- Vampire’s Kiss / High Spirits double feature
- Blacula / Scream Blacula Scream double feature
- From a Whisper to a Scream
- Ghoulies / Ghoulies II double feature
- Class of 1984 (Collector's Edition)
- Carrie 2002 / The Rage: Carrie II double feature
- Food of the Gods / Frogs double feature
- Empire of the Ants / Jaws of Satan double feature
- Tentacles / Reptilicus double feature
- Robot Jox

I can remember when this movie was on DVD in Canada before it was available in the US. I imported it way back then!

So it sounds like they did indeed have a couple of higher profile titles lined up for the final reveals, and I'm guessing due to the complications they aren't with MGM.

Higher profile? Could it be a WB deal? If so, I would hope that it would limit the releases to around 6000 per title, because they would have to be limited.

Nah one of them is probably Needful Things if I had to do some guessing ..I would stick with MGM titles because there is no sign of any deals with other studios..maybe Return of Count Yorga is another ?

Both are often requested for one thing

It is likely not MGM as it says "the deal has not been signed."

I'm thinking it's probably a deal with an independent licensor, not a major studio. Someone along the lines of Don Coscarelli (Phantasm and the remaining sequels), Richard P. Rubinstein (Dawn of the Dead, Martin), Peter Jackson (Bad Taste, Dead Alive), Double Helix Films (Sleepaway Camp II and Sleepaway Camp III) or the licensor for Alligator and Alligator II (Brandon Chase?). I realize Scream Factory has shot down a number of these titles a number of times as titles they don't have, but they don't technically have a film until a contract has been finalized and signed.

I don't think it'll be Brian Yuzna (Society, Bride of Re-Animator, Necronomicon). High quality transfers were already struck for those films overseas, and if Arrow has gotten the UK rights to those films as has been speculated, I'm thinking they may have also gotten the US rights for their transition to being a dual territory distributor.

I agree that it wont be a Yuzna film. Needful Things was blown to bits so that isn't one of the titles. You might be right *Z*.. They shot down a lot of titles at first but later on they licensed them. We can also speculate a new deal with Fox.. The Fly II would be a bigger title. It will be interesting to see what develops. Now I think it will be something out of MGM ... wait and see time

I was thinking a deal for the film not with the studio but it doesn't seem to be with MGM so its probably a moot point. Maybe all the money that they made from Nightbreed and the Halloween Set and the Price set could go toward one or more of the titles Zbinks mentioned..

Agreed. SF talking about concerns with masters tells me they're from smaller/independent studios.

Maybe we'll finally get that Fright Night Part II announcement.

Too bad about there not being anymore announcements this month. I imagine the deals were pretty close to final if they were originally planning to a mince them this week. Hopefully that means we will get to hear what they are sometime in early November.

I think I like those titles from the indy studios more than what titles a major studio could provide (with a few exceptions). Let's hope it is some of those.

And Pumpkinhead II was moved to November 18th on the release calendar.

I wouldn't be so sure, they also mentioned in a facebook post that they weren't sure if they would be able to announce anything in November.

I want the lot of them, except I'll pass on the Bitten two pack, the Vampire's Kiss/High Spirits set, and the Carrie set.

Some people in the know seem to think so . It certainly fits the "need to look at the film elements" criteria.
