Pretty much. It's interesting how things have changed for Scream over the last year and a half. It's a very obvious change.

In 2012 and 2013, they released a few clunkers, but quality titles were more often than not, the majority. At that time, they even rejected movies like Psycho IV as not living up to the quality standard they were trying to set with their releases.

Now, a movie like Psycho IV would have been one of their biggests announcments in the last few months. I don't know that there is anything from Scream Factory coming up in the next 6 months that is a must have for me. Kind of disappointing.

I am excited about many of their upcoming releases, but I just find it strange that they turned their nose up at titles like Psycho IV and The Howling 2. It's a little bizarre considering what they've announced lately.

But I'm sure they have some bigger titles on the horizon.

I'm hoping Slumber Party Massacre II / III and Sleepaway Camp II / III are announced soon, I think those would fit their Double Feature line well. (Regarding the former, I hope they reconsider releasing them both on blu-ray. SPM2 is a personal favorite of mine!)

Let's not get too discouraged. There are still some heavy hitters out there when it comes to horror movies, but Scream/Shout is going to have to be relentless in trying to work out some new deals with companies like Lionsgate, Sony, Universal, Paramount, Image, and possibly even Warner.

Phantasm
Hell Night
Fright Night Part 2
The Midnight Hour
Sleepaway Camp 2 & 3
House 1 & 2
Demon Knight
Bordello of Blood
The Hidden
Silver Bullet
Bad Moon
Braindead
Candyman
Watchers
John Carpenter's Vampires
Waxwork
Brainscan
Return of the Living Dead 3
April Fool's Day
Night of the Living Dead (1990)

As a big fan of martial arts movies, there are still some great western movies from this genre I would like to see Shout go after as well if rights can be worked out.

Enter the Ninja
Revenge of the Ninja
Pray for Death
American Ninja 1 & 2
No Retreat No Surrender 1-3
King of the Kickboxers
American Shaolin
Bloodmoon
Only the Strong
Drive (1997)
Crying Freeman
Best of the Best 1 & 2
Showdown in Little Tokyo
Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon

Love Scream Factory, but unless they can get a hold of or release some of these movies I want, I'm probably done with their future releases.

The Hitcher
The Changeling
House
Critters
Nightmares
The Night Walker
Count Yorga
The Burbs
The Sentinel
Jaws 2
Blue Sunshine
The Brood
Island of Terror
Night of the of Living Dead
Kingdom of the Siders
Angry Red Planet
Premature Burial
The Man with the X-ray Eyes
Panic in Year Zero
I Married a Monster From Outer Space
Old School Godzilla
Dracula's Daughter
Original Village of the Damned
This Island Earth
War of the Worlds
Scream and Scream Again
Tales of Terror
Bug (1975)

Phantasm - Believed to be with the director. I think it's inevitable
Hell Night - on hold with the rights owners for the same reason Madman used to be, a supposed remake.
Fright Night Part 2 - seriously unknown
The Midnight Hour - Formerly Anchor Bay, so possible?
Sleepaway Camp 2 & 3 - Double Helix, Possible
House 1 & 2 - Image, who would deliver a goldmine if they could be licensed.
Demon Knight - Universal, possible if they license again
Bordello of Blood - Universal
The Hidden - New Line (WB)
Silver Bullet - Paramount, so most likely Warner. Either way, neither really license.
Bad Moon - Warner
Braindead - If the PJ movie, then Lionsgate/Wingnut. Release due after The Hobbit finishes, so possible then?
Candyman - Sony. Don't allow extras, so Scream don't license. Possible if they decide to go barebones?
Watchers - Lionsgate, don't license and hold a motherload
John Carpenter's Vampires - Sony
Waxwork - Lionsgate
Brainscan - Sony
Return of the Living Dead 3 -Lionsgate
April Fool's Day - Paramount/WB deal
Night of the Living Dead (1990) - Twilight Time for a couple years

So out of those, Phantasm, Hell Night, Midnight Hour, Sleepaway Camp, are possible.
If Universal starts again, then Demon Knight/Bordello are possible.
Braindead is also possible in the future.

It's not going to be easy, but I have faith that Scream is eventually going to get access to some of these classics.

Btw, I forgot about Critters 1 & 2 which are also with Warner. Two other horror movies that need to be in the Scream Factory line.

Old School Godzilla - Assuming you just mean the old movies, Toho is my guess.
I believe Twilight Time has said that they have the first Count Yorga film, but not the second.

If I remember correctly, that 2007 Shout release of Blue Sunshine is on an Elvira DVD and Shout had to sublicense it from Synapse.

The home video rights (DVD/Blu-ray) to most of the old school Godzilla films (Godzilla, Godzilla Raids Again, Mothra vs. Godzilla, Ghidorah The Three-Headed Monster, Invasion of Astro-Monster, All Monsters Attack & Terror of Mechagodzilla) are still with Classic Media. Maybe Shout could, like Criterion did for the first Godzilla film, negotiate a deal with Classic Media and Toho to release them on Blu-ray but rumor is that the Godzilla project, which involved multiple companies, was a massive pain in the ass for Criterion (and they seem to be the one US company that really gets along with Toho.)

I really wish Synapse would release Blue Sunshine on blu ray, it's the last early Lieberman needed on Blu

What I would really like to see from SF, as these new titles aren't exactly blowing my socks off... and I don't know who all these films belong to, just a wish list of sorts from me I guess...

Prophecy (1979) would love to see this get the CE treatment, as all that's out there is the barebones DVD as far as I know... a commentary or two and some featurettes would be so damned nice, and if there's any deleted stuff...
Slumber Party Massacre 2/3 for a double feature would be excellent with the features from the trilogy ported over. I didn't buy the DVD trilogy because I felt surely it would come to Blu.
Sleepaway Camp 2/3 but I think maybe seperate releases for each would be really cool with features for each and nice artwork. Someone stole my Medical Box edition, so I really miss these films.
The Critters films of course, but at least the first and or second as they are the best. Features are what I would really like to see with these.
Braindead, nuff said. Bad Taste and Meet the Feebles would be simply amazing as well.
Alligator 1/2.
The Stuff region 1 blu.
A special edition of TCM 2 and or 3 would be very nice, but I havent dug into the TCM 2 release that's already out... just going by the fact that that awesome 3 disc is Region B only...
Night of the Demon early 80s.
Syngenor, and Scared to Death would be great.
Bride of Reanimator desperately needs a CE.

I read somewhere that Scarecrows is getting a Blu release, any truth to this, anyone?

For the first time I ordered some Shout Factory titles and I gotta say I'm very pleased with their packaging. They don't have those absurd eco-cases and it's an especially nice touch that the sleeves have artwork on both sides. Unlike a lot of the studios these guys appear to understand the mindsets of those that buy physical media.

They did use eco cases on the Halloween 15 disc set tho.

Ugghh, for a set that's especially awful.

I just don't get the eco-case thing. A lot of returns are because of those stupid things. It makes it far too easy for the product to get punctured before it ever gets to you.
