They need to go in the same direction as Class of 1984 and Assault on Precinct 13. We need Vice Squad, Night of the Juggler, Enemy Territory, Tenement, 10 to Midnight, the theatrical cut of the Warriors, even the Death Wish series together and finally uncut in one big set.

This would be the next best thing to getting the original, plus I don't think they are that bad, honestly. The 2006 loose-remake of Black X-Mas would also be a great pickup for Scream Factory, IMO it's one of the most underrated horror films of the last decade.

Other somewhat recent titles that would be my dream-come-true if Shout Factory acquired:
- Slither
- Bubba Ho Tep
- Touristas
- Disturbing Behavior
- Cherry Falls
- The Loved Ones
- Session 9

My two biggest request, however, would be the awesome 2005 slasher film Cry_Wolf (with Universal), which I would probably call one of my Top 5 favorite horror films of the 2000's, and the missing-in-action movie The Poughkeepsie Tapes (2007)!!

There's a huge chunk of the past decade missing on blu-ray, especially in relation to horror films. I would definitely be intrigued if Scream Factory checked into some of those movies, while also keeping the retro titles coming as well!
Thus endeth the first positive review of Cry_Wolf I ever read.

A Death Wish set will never happen from SF. 1 is WB through Paramount. 5 is Lionsgate. Maybe through WB.

I imported cry wolf from the UK. Enjoyable little flick (and seeing Lindy Booth in HD is always a good thing!!).

Holland and Australia both managed complete Death Wish dvd sets .
Can't recall who released it in Holland ( but that was a bad set with edited versions) but the Oz set was great and from Sony who had all 5 films uncut and in their best quality.
There may have been rights issues though because the complete collection boxset was literally off the market in less than a month . Never found out why.

I can't remember much of Cry Wolf, wasn't it PG-13?
Yeah, there is an unrated cut with (IIRC) some nudity and worse language. But don't quote me on that. But it's not a movie that needs to rely on the rating, it's got the meat and potatoes to back it up, in my honest opinion.

I can't see why it didn't hit the mark when it came out but I revisited it and it's sooooooo fkn good!!!!

I think Cry_Wolf was rated R and it blows!! Totally idiotic movie. Haven't met one person that liked it. As bad as Sorority Row was, I at least enjoyed it.

Sorority Row wasn't "bad" either though. It was incredibly witty and got flack for throwing back to slasher tropes... when that's exactly what it is! A THROWBACK!

Same goes for Cry_Wolf. I really think these movies have aged well. Remember that so many "awful" 80s slasher have since become cult classics and now get praise that wasn't present to begin with...

BTW Nighthawks and Vice Squad also came to mind when talking about films that should get some attention from Scream Factory, along the lines of some other loose horror/thrillers that have been announced or released so far.

I know this is probably more up Synapse's alley but Scream/Shout should try to release Jim Van Bebber's Deadbeat At Dawn (easily one of the best bad movies of all time) and a proper release of Jeff Lieberman's Just Before Dawn.

I know I'm definitely in the minority here but I would love to see them get the Black Christmas remake. I love it. It oozes atmosphere. I also like the original and think it's just as good. However I would rather see Synapse re release that.

The blu-ray from Code Red for Just Before Dawn is pretty great in terms of quality, but I think it would be cool to see it get decked out in special features while also being presented in HD.

I used the Media Blasters DVD to make my own ultimate edition combo pack. Their release had an hourlong feaurette, a commentary track and other extras. It's pretty definitive IMO. Coupled with Code Red's uncut transfer and the even longer cut this is probably the best treatment the film will ever receive.

The Sleepaway Camp Films page shared this photo, could it possibly be unreleased artwork for the upcoming blu-ray release?

John Klyza also added this regarding special features:
Quote:
I've received many messages in our inbox asking if I'll be part of the upcoming blu-rays of Sleepaway Camp 2 & 3, as I was with Anchor Bay's DVDs in 2002. The answer right now is: your guess is as good as mine. There were discussions, but nothing concrete so far.
At the very least, I expect they'll carry over the old audio commentaries I did with Michael & Fritz. At the very most, I'd love to open my personal collection of promotional and behind-the-scenes materials, which included the never-seen SC3 Director's Cut.
One final thing, just as the blu-ray of part one contained a new short film, I'd like to create two exclusive shorts for the blu-rays set within the SC sequels universe - one each for 2 & 3. I've already sketched them out, and a creative team is ready. I'd like to reinforce that they are purely speculative for now.
If anything develops futher, I'll be sure to let you know. -John

Agree with you about Sorority Row. Nice little modern slasher.

Totally disagree with you about Cry_Wolf. Sorry man, but that movie is straight garbage. Not a slasher, and it barely qualifies as horror. Tries way too hard to be clever and hip, and really, it's just dumb.

I thought Cry Wolf & Sorority Row were pretty good and have both the blu rays, CW i made a 2 discs with the dvd for the features. It certainly doesn't hurt it that Lindy Booth is in it but the one i would really want is the remake to Black Christmas, i love that movie and just watched the Canadian blu ray(ugh) again the other day, its a great slasher imo with a great christmassy feel to it. One of the most underrated horror films of the last 10 years for me.

Unseen SC3 directors cut sounds like absolute gold special features wise!

Someone get Scream onto that, that an opportunity not to be missed

I've always said this. The amount of films now considerd classics which used to get slagged off in the pages of fango is untrue. I'd add another 3 which i think time will be kind to, "The Wolfman" 2010, "The Thing" 2011 & "Texas Chainsaw 3D"
