This Blu-ray of The Final Terror is so underrated.

I've had a hankering to revisit this movie lately, so I might do that this week.

The overall package is a class act in terms of how a "long lost" movie can be rescued by loyal fans.

Nope. It just wasnt part of the deal. It doesnt appear they have any deals with Universal at this time.

Also not to mention that the film itself is absolutely fantastic. One of the best horrors I've seen in a while, up these with Just Before Dawn

I too really like The Final Terror. I first saw it back in the mid-80s on a Saturday afternoon television program, but I never knew the tittle and for years I assumed it was Just Before Dawn. I went ahead and bought Just Before Dawn, which I was pleasantly surprised with, but disappointed that it wasn't The Final Terror. Finally I discovered the Final Terror trailer on youtube and put two and two together. I was so excited to get the bluray of it last summer. I have a strong affinity for outdoor horror movies like these and the Friday the 13th movies, not only because I saw them at an impressionable age, but because my friends and I used to play in the woods, along creeks, and corn fields, and could relate to the fear of these environments and our imagination could get the best of us after seeing these flicks. Oh and there used to be this old camp ground from the 60s on the other side of a large farmers field that was stil in use, but it was very run down with shabby cabins and rickety trailers. They had loose chickens running around in there. It was creepy. Plus there was an island across the river from it that is owned by Native Americans that no one lives on, but is farmed. The entire section across from the camping ground was still bush, marsh and boggy ground. A very cool place to grow up around.

They said on their Facebook page that it would be the same transfer but I think they deleted the post because I cannot find it now.

I'm curious if The Final Terror sold well for Shout. The film was something of a holy grail among fans of backwoods slasher films, and the fact that there hadn't been a respectable release of the film since the VHS (and that was barely respectable itself) probably helped fuel sales of the BD, but with the horror market being extremely limited and people not willing to splurge on movies because of the still-sluggish economy, the numbers for this title probably still weren't great. I'm so grateful that Shout went above and beyond to bring this film to Blu-ray for us. It is now one of my favorite releases of all time

Actually Scream Factory did say they could release Psycho IV but were unsure of sales outcome and if II/III did well they could revisit. Obviously there's no guarantees.

It wasnt on any of the deals, if they strike a new deal, and if 2/3 did well, then I can see 4. The only way we will know if SF strikes a deal with Universal is if Jeff announces a title or two on FB

...and there are FAR better films in the Universal Catalog that would/will make far more money for Scream Factory than Psycho IV would. I do hope Psycho IV eventually see's a release, however not before so many of the other Universal titles we've been asking for, for years.

I think that was basically Cliff MacMillan's point when he posted the following:

Sorry to disappoint you, but I didn't acquire it nor do I ever plan to. There are much better films to go after.
Even if Scream Factory were to strike another deal with Universal for another 6 - 10 films or so, there are still probably at least that many films in that catalog that would take priority over Psycho IV.

I ended up buying that Psycho 3 pack with the sequels a few years back. I probably enjoyed IV more than III, but I'm pretty happy I got all three for cheap.

It def. Sounds like Cliff just genuinely doesn't like Psycho IV.

Per actor Philippe Mora:

SHOUT are going to put out a Bluray of HOWLING 2 (MGM) with all the bells and whistles.

I've heard this movie somehow has its fans, so for all you out there.
