If they really wanted to get people in, they should have used that awesome Mondo art with the knife. Better suits the film in my opinion as well.

It seems every region has better artwork except the US - Shout must be slipping . Another bad cover is their Timeless release of Capricorn One. It just looks quickly slapped together.

For the most part it lives up to the hype. It's not a terrifying film by any means, but it's one of those films that just doesn't sit right with you and makes you feel like things are "off" right from the start. It has some great atmosphere through 3/4ths of the film and can mke the viewer feel quite unsettled. It has one particular moment with one character moving in a terribly unnatural way that only add's to the overall uneasiness within the film and was probably my favorite part of the movie. I won't go so far to say that it's Highly recommended, but it certainly deserves to be checked out by any/every self respecting horror movie fan. It won't blow everyone away, but I'm confident when I say that the majority of you that follow up with my recommendation will find it enjoyable. I think it's pretty safe to spend $17.99 on this film and not regret it. I will be picking it up for sure.

Is there a "good" reason you would want to buy the individual SyFy original releases before a double feature is potentially issued? ...Or are you just wanting to collect all the editions?

Some people collect, some people don't like fitting double features into an alphabetical collection, there's lots of reason why someone would make a decision.

Finally sat down to watch the Producer's Cut of Halloween 6. Great release overall. I thought the commentary pairing of Farrands and the composer Howarth was an odd choice, as Farrands was doing most of the talking. They needed to get someone who would've kept a fluid conversation going as opposed to mostly a one-sided one. It's still a great release, with plenty of good insight into the troubled history of the film. And, man, what a mess this turned out to be. Now at least the mess makes a little more sense

Going to watch Ninja III tonight. Didn't like Revenge and didn't see Enter, but I hope this is as fun as I hear it is. Also going to toss in Screamers with Peter Weller.

It's a fun and goofy flick for sure.

The back only lists fullscreen, so if it's both, I will be pleasantly surprised.

The one I have is a flipper disc, Wide on one side and FF on the other. I guess Sony stop making that one and then just did a FF one. After checking amazon, it looks like Sony now has a MOD version which is Widescreen.

Sony was pretty notorious for doing just that.

Is Dog Soldiers going to be a new transfer?

I always remember it looking so bad when I saw it in the past.

Great movie though.

Yes. The director found a print and it will be used for a new scan

That latter part isn't a done deal yet, unless something has been posted since this (emphasis mine):

Once we look at the elements, we’ll keep you posted on the status of it.We hope you understand our position on this and we appreciate your patience.

I don't think anything is "set in stone" yet, as far as the transfer for Dog Soldiers. I'm very hopeful these lost film elements will be usable. It would go a long way to making this a real slam dunk for SF.
I do have to credit SF, as it seems with this release(hopefully), and EFNY, they are trying to address the one big knock most folks had with them, and that's focusing attention to the transfer. It wasn't always a major issue with me, but I know how it could put quite a few folks off. If this is, in fact, true that SF is taking a slighty different approach in how they handle tranfers - for the better...well, this is very good news indeed!

When Shout launched the Scream label, Screamers was the first vote I cast. I think it's the perfect title for this line. Vastly underrated gem, one of my dad and I's favorite movies. Sadly, I believe the title is with Sony or is with Lions gate?

Now we'd also be missing Warlock and Warlock II: Armageddon, aside from the obligatory Phantasm request from me to complete my wishlist....
