I'll settle for any of:
Leviathan
Dolls
Prince of Darkness
Scarecrows

...and The Burning and/or The Fog so you're all appeased

I think The Burning is the #1 most likely to be announced title. Other strong contenders: Dolls, Night of the Comet, Prom Night II, Scarecrows. If we assume that everything's on the table for Shout, then these become possibilites: The Fog, The Howling, Pumpkinhead, Lifeforce. I really don't see Prince of Darkness being announced, since it was mentioned that they announced all of their Universal titles.

My personal most wanted announcements: Lifeforce, New Year's Evil. I'd also say The Howling, but I figure it's guaranteed from someone (doesn't matter if it's Shout or MGM).

Id say the Fog is also a top contender since Jamie Lee Curtis is there. Id be open to a definitive edition of Army of Darkness but that is owned by Universal or Anchor Bay ...maybe more MGM Midnight movies will be announced ?

I would love to hear THE FOG announced, as well as THE BURNING and PRINCE OF DARKNESS. I think my very top pick, though, would be CURTAINS. I would love love love to see that get a proper release, in high-def, in its correct aspect ratio, with legitimate special features. Such an underrated '80s slasher film.

I want "Lifeforce" and "Pumpkinhead" more than anything else!
But would also like to see "Squirm","Frogs" and "Invaders From Mars(1986)".
I already have "The Howling" and "The Fog" on blu-ray.

I would be extremely surprised if The Fog wasn't announced with as Fog-centric as that convention appears to be. That's really the only film at this point that I'd really be willing to bet on as a likelihood, though I do think these announcements wil be better-known in nature than what we've been getting week to week thus far.

With all due respect and I may be wrong here but I seriously doubt SF will be able to acquire the rights to THE FOG, THE BURNING, THE HOWLING, PUMPKINHEAD, etc. I believe these will eventually be released thru Fox's distribution deal with MGM. All these titles had extensive special features produced for the DVD releases. It seems SF is leasing lesser known horror gems that have never seen a decent DVD release and cult films that never had any special edition releases. I welcome them to BluRay.

I respect and love what SF is doing for little known classics like TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN, THE ISLAND, TERROR VISION, THE EVICTORS, TERROR TRAIN and the HALLOWEEN sequels. Beautiful work I have to say.

If Universal would take their feet off of PRINCE OF DARKNESS, THE CAR, THE SENTINEL and other genre product, I would love to see SF release these.

MGM recently released KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE and JEEPERS CREEPERS this year for halloween. Depending on how well these sell will probably determine if SF has a shot at snagging the big titles.

Disagree, Scream needs some headliner titles that will sell and make money so I expect a few major titles announced. Invaders from Mars would be AWESOME
Fox does not know what to do for genre titles other than re-release the same old thing and make MOD titles. Leviathan would be cool, Lifeforce would force me to rent again , I havent seen that in over 10 years. I wish theyd go into the 60s and release a few choice titles from that era too.

And They Live? Even Funhouse and Terror Train have solid-size followings. It makes clear economic sense for Shout to mix in big headliner titles with the more obscure stuff, to create awareness of their brand among casual fans who have never heard of, say, The Vagrant, and to provide dependable sales that will make up for the assumedly weaker performances of movies that are direct-to-video and/or star Barbi Benton.

Don't get me wrong, I wish SF could become the Horror /Thriller headliner since the studios don't know how to market their product.

I hope all the newly released titles sell very well so the studios may come to their senses...

Personally I hope Scream does get the big MGM horror movies everyone is waiting for... as well as WITHOUT WARNING, MOTEL HELL, MIRACLE MILE, VAMPIRE'S KISS, SQUIRM, LiTTLE GIRL WHO LIVES DOWN THE LANE, AUDREY ROSE, THE FOOD OF THE GODS, NIGHT OF THE COMET, EMPIRE OF THE ANTS, THE HOUSE BY THE LAKE, DERANGED, etc.

I would be a very Very happy camper.

...I LOVE SF, didn't mean to dash anyones hope or offend

This day in age this is a quite brilliant and reliable metric to judge catalog film popularity. Wish i would have thought of that.

That was me, and I will warn that those numbers can be skewed by a number of factors.

Demographics is probably the biggest factor. Gone with the Wind was rated by 120,000 users vs. The Dark Knight being rated by over 800,000, even though Gone with the Wind is probably the most popular film ever. (EDIT: Bear in mind that Dark Knight probably outsells Gone with the Wind by a fairly wide margin on DVD and Blu-Ray.) Simply put, most of the people that saw Gone with the Wind theatrically are either dead or have never touched a computer in their life. The older the average fanbase is, the lower the IMDB user number will be. Most of the Scream Factory films fall into roughly the same general era so comparisons should be more accurate, but I would caution against using this to compare relatively recent films (especially late 90's - present) with films that were released a relatively long time ago.

Ex: Jeepers Creepers (51,931) compared to Halloween II (30,010). Halloween II probably has a larger cross section of fans that don't use IMDB.

Recent availability is also huge. It probably isn't fair to compare popularity for a VHS only title to a title that had a DVD release. Scarecrows probably isn't more popular than The Town that Dreaded Sundown, but TTtDS has been more or less unavailable since the 1990's Goodtimes VHS went OOP, while Scarecrows received a DVD release in 2007 that only recently went OOP. Tiles that have been OOP for an especially long time (X-Ray, Death Valley, etc.) can be especially hard to judge using this method as there is probably a large swath of people that simply never had the opportunity to see these movies.

I'm really surprised that Scream isn't releasing films that already have HD masters made. SQUIRM, MOTEL HELL, BLOOD ON SATAN'S CLAW, GHOULIES, DERANGED, THEATER OF BLOOD, REMO WILLIAMS, the PHIBES movies, LIFEFORCE and a few others have been played on MGM-HD and MGM-HD UK. It seems the only one they are putting out that has been played is VAMPIRE LOVERS.

Town that Dreaded Sundown and The Video Dead spring to mind as films that have preexisting HD masters. Town just aired on AMC in HD a couple of months ago and I think I read that The Video Dead may be available on Netflix for HD streaming. I sort of expect that most, if not all, of the announced films have pre-existing HD masters, whether they've aired or not.

Theater of Blood is near the top of my Blu-Ray upgrade list since, the DVD is non-anamorphic.

Am I the only one who is curious about whether or not there will be more announcements after Friday? Sure, they have announced 18 titles, which seems like a lot (it isn't), but how many of those will end up as double or triple features? If there's nothing else coming after Friday, I really hope they're saving the best for last.
