If that theory holds any weight, Scream releasing Absurd and Anthropophagus would be fantastic. Them, Synapse, or Arrow are about the only US companies I could see releasing them and I think Synapse and Arrow have bigger fish to fry.

Edit: Forgot about Blue Underground. They would also be a possibility.

Double features are fantastic values. I'd be delighted if Scream made nothing but double features.

But Scream threads on Blu-ray.com are just whacky. This is the only place in the world where new title announcements are greeted by messages overwhelmingly complaining about artwork and asking about slipcovers. There is no other forum where people think that art sells discs and double features are a terrible idea because they don't fit alphabetically on a shelf.

Don't be fooled by the bizarro world of the Blu-ray.com forum. People love double features. People like bargains. In the real world people want as much CONTENT as possible for their entertainment dollar. Content isn't particularly relevant in the Scream threads. People here are much more concerned about whether they will be able to get a slipcover from amazon in six months. For those of us in the real world with real budgets, we'll take all the double features we can get.
This just in: Different people like different things.

As long as people are supporting the label, who gives a damn why someone buys. That's totally up to them!

I guess I give a damn because I found Dex Robinson's recent post about double features to be interesting and insightful and spot on.

Thusly falling under the "different people, like different things" mantra.

Agree 100%. Maybe there should be a separate collectibles thread so Dex Robinson doesn't get all hot and bothered every time someone says they like a particular slipcover.

I was on http://www.the-unknown-movies.com and I realized that Sonny Boy (a film the site reviewed) would be a great Scream title. MGM has the rights and there are two cuts in existence (the R-rated version and a more explicit European cut that adds six minutes back into the film).

With the flood of recent MGM titles on Blu, I'm surprised no label has gotten to this one.

I wonder what's happening with The Destroyer? I was really looking forward to that one. I wonder if it will get a standalone release, paired up with another unannounced slasher film or shelved entirely?

This would please me greatly. The more slasher films the better. I just hope the release isn't too far in the future.

I have a friend who made a rip from the MGM-HD UK broadcast... boy, is that a weird movie. Isn't that the one where David Carridine plays a transvestite?

And is this THE DESTROYER (1988) that you speak of?:

I always loved how Lyle has a huge sniper scope... on a jackhammer.

Yes it is. It's probably one of the bigger love it or hate it movies of the 90's (though it was filmed in 1987 and opened in Europe in 1988, it wasn't released domestically until 1990).

Just curious, does anyone know if SF is going to be doing the March Madness sale again? I've been putting off ordering all the new titles waiting for it

What kind of discount did the March Madness sale have last year? Was thinking of doing a large order to save 20% for their current Feb sale...
