It's for that very reason I ripped my own 1080i copy of the movie last year when it was airing on tv. A BD is ideal, but at least I have a reasonably close facsimile for the time being.

Has anyone asked Scream Factory about getting the rights to Jaws sequels? What about getting rights to House films? (SF released the Horror Show which is House 3 overseas). Did SF ever mention anything on Facebook about the prospect of getting the rights to them?

That's what I said. You stated the films were with MGM, which they aren't. I don't foresee them ever putting out a better release unless they can't license much of anything beyond the raided MGM vault.

I see... Darn it! If the studios that hold the rights won't license to SF the least they could do is release the blu-rays themselves.

Well technically they are with MGM ; MGM owns the films - Timeless Media / Shout are simply sub licensing them - that's the impression I have based on quotes from the Scream Factory posts. In the big scheme of things it doesnt matter.. Ultimately Im glad MGM is making all of these deals to the various studios so fans can finally get the titles they want..

No. They don't. Timeless Media had them before an MGM deal was even announced. MGM never even had releases of those three. The first DVD of 3 was Elite and the first of 5&6 was Artisan/Lionsgate. But you are right about it ultimately not mattering.

Oh I see.. I remember Timeless Media had a lot of MGM titles which was before the MGM started to get gutted. That makes sense now. Timeless had some Price films, and the MGM Charlie Chan films.. now they have the Hercules / 60s Son of Hercules films all full screen sadly..

Are the odds of SF getting rights to House IV about the same as for House I and II? I actually want this one to come out more than the first two since House IV never even came out on DVD and the other 3 did.

Universal might be planning a box set. This year is the original's 40th anniversary.

Oh god I hope so. I'd buy a set solely for 2, although 4 would make for a great coaster

House IV may not be with WB anymore. A few months back, someone on Facebook asked Warner Archives about it and Aliigator 2. The response said that they lost one and wer losing the other soon.

Hopefully. Should start hearing about it soon if they are going to release it this summer. I just want 3 in 3D but I'd double dip on the first one if I could only get it in a box set.

They really need to make a deal with Universal again so they can release the craptastic Shocker.

"This barcalounge is gonna kick your ass!"

Good christ, it's incredible.

Escape in a new 2K transfer from the camera negative? sweet.

I can't wait for that one, Babadook, Sleepaway Camp 2 and 3 and others.

They need to do Company of Wolves already since it's an ITC/Cannon film
