I think it's status is pretty much unchanged. It's not listed on their release schedule, anymore, but I don't know that it's officially cancelled. If film elements turn up for the missing portions of the film, I'd have to think the film would be put back on the release schedule.

Here's hoping for Village of the Dammed! I know it's not Carpenter's best, but it's from a studio they have/had deals with. It is a film that Carpenter completists would snatch up, and a chance to get a new commentary track from the director.

I'm surprised nobody seems to be asking for Session 9. Aside from a few pre-70's Universal Monster / Hammer / 50's sci fi titles, that would probably be my most wanted Universal title, at this point.

Fantastic film, but it was filmed digitally so I think it will only ever look so good and not get much better, like 28 Days Later. That's why I picked up the DVD, as much as I'd love a Blu Ray, I can't see it happening soon, and if it does, I think it won't look fantastic

It's been asked for on a number of occasions in the past.

It was filmed at 1080p/24 so it should be an improvement over the DVD release.

Obviously this would be amazing, but I'm not sure it wouldn't be a Shout release rather than Scream. Also, if the original cut already exists, then I could see this happening very easily, but if Shout/Scream has to piece it together and restore old bits, I'm not sure they would do it. I think the mere presence of a Stallone film on BD for the first time would sell enough copies that the additional investment into a director's cut might not be worth it to them. Hope I'm wrong though. One of my favorite films.

I'm glad they were honest about it. That means I am free to purchase some other films without the worry that a sale would be arriving anytime soon. I've had 5 Scream Factory releases, cannibal ferox and society on my mind for a while now. Time to start pulling the trigger on a few of these.

So, Shout! is releasing The Bear in September. That movie was distributed by Sony in the US, though their DVD is now OOP. Perhaps, their rights has expired or Shout/Scream has struck a deal with Sony...?

Id say the former , sort of how Shout licensed the Arkoff titles from Lionsgate when they lost the rights to them.. just a best guess really

You never know since it is a thriller and Scream does horror, sci-fi and thrillers with suspense films. But could be a possible if they surprise us.

I can see besides the 2 cuts in new HD transfers and commentaries i mentioned there can be featurette, TV version scenes, deleted scenes, trailers, TV Spots, radio spots, interviews and poster and still gallery.

Stallone fans would definitely pick this up.

Hellhole, Jack's Back, I Madman, Ghost Town, Nomads - Any of these worth a blind buy? I'm typically a fan of 80s horror, even cheesy. If they're just plain bad and not entertaining then I'm not interested. Thoughts?

Stay away from Nomads, it's a real snooze fest. Definitely a thriller, not a slasher. The only other one I've seen was Jack's Back but that was back in the 80's and I really don't remember if it was any good or not.

I liked I, Madman, not Ghost Town. Im not interested in the rest after reading about them, they dont sound like me cup of tea. Id say try Ghost Town, I think you can steam it on Amazon or Netflix (?)
