1:26:15: Bubba-Ho-Tep is apparently owned by Don Coscarelli, not MGM.

1:31:41: Universal is planning to do The 'Burbs themselves.

1:32:07: The guy that owns Fade to Black is rich and doesn't respond to inquiries.

I suspect Demon Knight is coming. The answer was a little cagey, and they did say near the end that some titles suggested over the course of the podcast 'may be' coming.

So Bubba Ho-Tep is with Don now rather than MGM? That's possibly a shame, given the situation with Phantasm

Did you happen to hear what titles were suggested? Thank you.

Oh there's a good number. Slumber Party Massacre, The Prey, Fade to Black, The Hitcher... they're just some of the ones I can recall.

They say they have "bigger" horror-comedies coming. No Demon Knight (at this point in time).

I'm still waiting for highway to hell. One of my favorite 90s movies. Folks say it's MGM so come on scream this is a no brainer. I don't really buy the Ben Stiller thing. Does he really have the clout to make a movie not see the light of day?

I think a double feature of both TFTC movies would be great or if they can get the rights to all 3 do a trilogy box set. I don't see a Trilogy set selling ay better than a Double Feature and would actually prefer just a double feature, it's not like either of the movies had full blown special edition on DVD so if there are any extras they would probally be all new and just be interviews/commentaries

I wonder what the failed boxset involving Miramax and more companies than were involved in the Halloween collection was? Hellraiser or Children of the Corn are the two franchises that spring to mind.

What's taking them forever to release OVER YOUR DEAD BODY? Heard nothing, but great things about this one.

After listening to the podcast I get the impression that a Phantasm box set is likely in the future (as well as maybe Bubba Ho-Tep) and they just don't want the cat out of the bag yet. I'm only basing that on how they sounded when they spoke, but I'm likely reading too much into nothing.

That part confused me for some reason (sounded like sentences got jumbled together I think) so I double checked with Scream and they confirmed it is indeed.

I loved The Outing when I first saw it on the 4 pack DVD so hopefully the longer cut is just as good.

Given their dealings with Clive Barker last year and the higher profile of the series, I'm thinking it was probably Hellraiser.

I think it's just an extra prologue scene with different title cards, music, etc. that runs during the opening credits.

The full version with this intro can be found on YouTube under the title "the lamp" posted by elcuerposinalma.

The version was just the extra prologue is the version that was released on video in the UK. The full version (like you mentioned, under the title The Lamp) has almost an additional 20 minutes to it.

I just asked about "the longer cut" and they said that it was. I was only aware of The Outing cut and the full 105 min The Lamp. I didn't know about a third version with just the additional prologue.

I guess we'll see which one we're getting in a couple weeks.

There was quite a bit of talk about poor preorders and sales numbers when it comes to most of their non-contemporary titles. It was implied multiple times that if more people don't start buying the more obscure titles, that it will be tougher to financially justify releasing them.

They said the contemporary titles are among their biggest sellers. Of course being widely available at Walmart, Best Buy, etc (unlike most of their catalog titles) helps.

I just got kind of a negative vibe from the podcast, like the days of Scream Factory as we know it are numbered unless people start buying more catalog titles and/or WB, Lionsgate, etc start licensing. And by "the days of SF as we know it being numbered", I mean the current model of mostly catalog titles with a few contemporary titles. I can see that reversed in the future, with a majority of releases being contemporary.

But I do appreciate their honesty, which confirmed what I was fearing.

I have heard from a reliable source, actually two , that Phantasm and the sequels outside of Part II are with Image Entertainment.
I hope this information is wrong, because if theyre with Image, forget about them getting released.

Too bad about Demon Knight, did anyone ask about Village of the Damned ?
I would venture to say at the SDCC they will announce more Universal titles and maybe more from MGM as you know they have made deals with them before and there are more titles to be had.

Fade to Black I heard was with Lionsgate, how can that be I wonder, but it mustve been a good offer to sublicense it. A lot of the old Anchor Bay titles wound up with Studio Canal sadly
