I did pick up They Live. Can't wait for some of the newer announced titles.
I order from Amazon. Under $20 each so far, before tax.

" The "Super Six" will also be announced here on our FB page later on in the evening and then we will be taking a bit of a break from our weekly Friday announcements going forward (or at least until the new year). No worries, as we still have other stuff brewing in the works. :-) "

That's their quote from FB. I expect updates from them still in terms of extras, cover art details, and the likes, but announcements of new titles coming out? Not too sure about that.

If I had to guess, I'd say maybe the 23-24 they have announced will take up the first 9-10 months of the calendar year. That leaves several months to see what we'll be getting in Nov-December, and begin announcing titles for 2014 when the time comes.

Most of these Super 6 titles, you would think, will come out around late-August->late-October. It's sound decision-making to release your biggest titles around Halloween. We'll see.

That seems to be correct. Dawn is still on their website. Day is not.

And for the sake of putting it out there, Phenomena is also on their website, as is Tenebre.

So, we finally have the vaunted "super six". It seems almost anticlimactic, after we've basically predicted all of the titles (other than Day of the Dead).

Four of the six are automatic "must haves": The Howling, Lifeforce, Night of the Comet, and The Fog. The Howling is my favorite of the bunch, but I'm also excited to see Lifeforce in all of its HD glory.

The Burning--might pass on that one. I know it'll have some awesome cover art, and that will get me all jazzed up to get it--but really, I'm pretty content with the current MGM dvd. Day of the Dead...*yawn*. Not too excited about that announcement.

Next January, I hope they start off the new year with New Year's Evil as their first announcement.

Amazing announcement! I am going to get them all!

Can't wait to see what The Fog and Day of the Dead will look like. Any better than the previous BDs and it's an instant sale.

Lifeforce and Night of the Comet for sure... I had even asked about Comet a while back, and took the non-answer as a potential positive sign

Day of the Dead might interest me on a re-buy depending on the extras... It has been a while since I bought that, so a nice new version with goodies might entice me to re-buy.

Exciting announcement! I'm in for 5 of 6 for sure. I've never double dipped on Blu-ray yet, so Day of the Dead would have to blow me away.

I'm most excited about Lifeforce. Most people may not have seen it, but it's loads of fun and has a killer score.

I hope these 6 are just the beginning of 2013. I really like the list. Definitely in for the Fog and Lifeforce on day 1. The rest when they get a little cheaper.

Sorry I went to bed early last night, and missed out! (runs from the inevitable verbal abuse I'm going to receive).

Thanks so much for posting! Sounds like it was a fun convention.
I might be in for all of those titles! Can't wait to hear about the technical specs/extras!

nice announcement!

even before these six i was planning on buying alot of scream blu rays. (terrorvision/videodead, deadly blessing, the island, prison, death valley, town that dreaded sundown) now i have to add the fog and most likely the howling, lifeforce and the burning. my wallet wants to yell at you but my bluray player wants to thank you. keep up the good work and get me my prince of darkness!

Oh, Im very sure about that, as in some of their quotes to inquires they do mention they have more title announcements still to come but they are taking a break..so it is not over yet. So yes there are more movie announcements. It will be a busy year for Scream Factory...

Not that it's likely to be included, but there's also a 27-minute doc entitled 'The Werewolf Effect' on the Studio Canal disc.

Finally The Fog! So excited! All the other titles are must haves as well though not sure about Day of the Dead. It's a great movie but already has a pretty packed Bluray. I'm not complaining though and I'm sure I'll end up grabbing it anyways. I plan on having the complete Scream collection as they haven't announced anything that I completely hate. The sad part is no more new announcements for a while now.

Seriously, some of these so called "horror fans" are so annoying with the constant complaining of one thing or another. I can't believe that even with these great announcements some are still disappointed with the choices or the fact that the weren't obscure enough and too mainstream...sigh.
I'm actually quite happy with the movies, especially The Burning and Night of the Comet.
The Fog: I'm really happy it's finally getting the special edition treatment, because I'm sorry but let's face it the previous edition was a bit underwhelming in terms of extras. The commentary (which I hope they port over because it has the late Debra Hill) was great and it had a lot info, but that was it in terms of involvement from John Carpenter. As for the other features, the vintage stuff was interesting and a nice addition. The problem for me was the lack of participants (like Nancy, John, Adrienne and Tom Atkins) and the quality of the features. One of the features is like 3 minutes long and Adrienne manages to appear for like 2 seconds....what the hell?
Night of the Comet and Lifeforce: I'm really excited about these two since the previous DVD didn't have any special features. Their great underrated films that deserve the special treatment.
The Burning: I love this movie and I hope they port over the special features that it included. Here's hoping we get lots of new content.
Day of the Dead: Don't particularly care for this one and I really don't see what they can add in terms of extras...yet again, I never managed to buy the old Blu? Was that any good?
The Howling: Love the movie and I'm glad it's finally the blu treatment. This one had great special features, so I'm hoping they will include everything. Maybe they can do a retrospective with all the main actors involved?

I'll add my comment that I'm absolutely delighted with the list. I especially look forward to NIGHT OF THE COMET and LIFEFORCE since I passed on the DVDs. But I'm also in for the rest with the exception of DAY OF THE DEAD.

I also have to say that I could not care less about any extras. Honestly, extras just don't matter.

These are great movies in high defintion. HIGH DEF fer cryin' out loud. That's what it's all about.

If they want to add extras...that's fine. But my purchase decision is based 99.9% on the feature. A commentary track? Maybe I'll get around to listening to a commentary track...once. Bare bones is fine with me. I'd certainly much rather buy a $19.95 movie only disc than a $24.95 loaded version.

It's all about having these movies in high definition so I'm happy. People who worry about extras, posters and slip covers can now sweat it out but I have nothing to worry about. I'm getting high def genre movies and I'm a happy boy.
