Forunately, this is not a radicalism that afflicts me. I've watched movies made by child molesters, Nazis, communists, racists, liars, thieves and probably worse. I have not digested their "badness".

I don't need protection from the art of bad people.
The part of his message you took out of the quote said his problem with it is that the victims are all right there on screen. I think that probably crosses more peoples' lines for that reason. There's quite a difference between watching something made by a child molester, and watching a film made by a child molester of his current victims. I agree with you generally, just I see why Clownhouse crosses an additional line there. It gives it an uncomfortable meta quality.

I also understand how Clownhouse crosses an additional line and can be very uncomfortable to some people.
The only problem I have with this topic is when I read things like "I can't understand how some people can enjoy that film". That sort of implies there's something wrong with whoever can appreciate the film for what it is instead of watching the scenes making mental images of what was happening backstage. That's like saying the world needs to share your point of view and there's something wrong with who doesn't (not saying you, cakefactory, implied that, I'm just generally speaking).
Most of the time I just ignore the whole Clownhouse discussion. It's always the same thing, it gets tiring. This time someone actually brought something interesting to the table.

I hear you. My point is that any horror title that Universal doesn't do themselves will eventually be licensed out to someone else unless there's major legal issues preventing it. Unlike WB/Lionsgate/etc, Universal has people in charge that realize that licensing is more profitable than just sitting on their library.

When Blu-ray rides off into the sunset, we'll have Jaws 2-3-4 if we want them, whether it's from Universal or someone else.

Oh I was under the impression you meant any title from Universal or MGM will get sublicensed.. no biggie. Some will come from the studio themselves such as the Burbs, Buckaroo Banzai.. others will get sublicensed, others will sit for whatever reason
Shout shot down Trick R Treat 1986 and re-confirmed no Warner titles today by the way

The only way we will get a Lionsgate , Echo Bridge, Miramax title is if they lose the rights to them.. some of them might expire sooner than later I hope. Alligator might have gone back to the owner, Fright Night II still with LG, Rex is being sought after by all the labels

Another film that I have been really wanting to get a blu release, (I am pretty sure it has a region B release) is Dagon though I am pretty sure that it is in Lionsgate hell.

Doubt if anyone gives a shit, but we just got Alien Outpost at work, and all of they came with a slick, classic Scream Factory slipcover.

I still hope we get Jaws 2 even if it isn't the masterpiece pt. 1 is... as it stands, Universal has no plans to do any sequels to any 70s/80s movie. At least Shout realizes people want more than the first movie in a franchise

Universal may do the Jaws sequels themselves

C'mon Scream Factory, give us Rituals (1977) and The Prey (1984).

I'm overextending my fantasy Blu-ray wishes here, but acquiring the rights to the Disney productions of Dragonslayer (1981) and Something Wicked This Way Comes (1983) would be most excellent as well.

Code Red still has Rituals and by the sounds of it Bill doesnt seem too interested in doing a blu ray of it due to poor dvd sales.
Which SUCKS cause its an awesome backwoods slasher that I really want on blu.

I thought Fright Night 2 was still not with any company because Scream Factory asked around but no one claimed it. If I am even remember what was said months or a year ago.

This is what I remember too.
I seem to remember Lionsgate denying that they had the rights to it when they were asked a ways back.
