I just hope we don't get a bunch of already released titles, they seem to be doing that a lot lately.

Re; Existenz

But isn't Lionsgate slowly rereleasing all those Echo Bridge-Miramax titles(same discs, just changing logo on the disc/artwork)? Ones already reissued include Godzilla vs Biollante, The Grifters, Shipping News, etc.

Me too, but probably one or two of the ten announcements will be double dips.

Considering they now have Demon Knight and Bordello of Blood, I wonder if Ritual was the Miramax film they spoke of trying to get rights for a while back?
Perhaps they were planning a TFTC boxset?

No, that was sort of cryptic (HA) basically saying they couldnt announce it at that time. Jeff knows the right words in the right circumstance

At the time (I think I said on here) I suspected they were a bit dubious on the question of Demon Knight, and that it in fact was coming, but technically it was still something of a denial on their part.

Will there be a live stream of the event tonight? Someone said there was one last year, but I don't remember.

Anyone speculated part of the "Kaiju-sized" announcement is putting the MST3K Godzilla's back and newly on the sets?

I wonder why so many of you are CONFIDENT about your predictions. There are hundreds/thousands of possible titles and yet you think you have correctly predicted 3 of the 4?

Something about the higher list price for these new Uni titles just hit me. Maybe this is due to the fact that there are more titles involved than the past few deals? The first had 8 films (Deadly Blessing, Death Valley, The Funhouse, Halloween 2&3, The Island, Phantasm II, They Live) and the second only had 7 (Cat People, Darkman, MST3k: The Movie, Prince of Darkness, Psycho 2&3, The Shadow). This one already has 8 (Army of Darkness, Bordello of Blood, Demon Knight, The Legacy, People Under the Stairs, The Sentinel, Serpent and the Rainbow, Shocker), with many expecting more.

Ghost Story (1981) seems most likely, with Raising Cain and The Guardian being less likely but still possible. Village of the Damned (1995) doesn't really fit the guidelines of Shout's hint, so I'd say that one is the least likely.

The reason some folks are confident with their guesses: Shout only has so many avenues to explore when it comes to licensing titles. Universal and MGM are fair game--meaning that titles belonging to them are more likely to be announced. Thus, confidence.

As I mentioned before, I think Demonknight's list is pretty accurate, although I would make a couple changes.

01. Village of the Damned (CE)
02. The Thing (CE)
03. Death Becomes Her (CE)
04. Ghost Story
05. Lady in White
06. Raising Cain
07. The Car
08. Nightmares
09. Sssssss
10. The Guardian

Wildcard: Phantasm Collection or Jaws sequel trilogy!

Personally it's a decent line up, but as mentioned before, I would come away slightly disappointed. The only tittles in that list I would run out and buy day one would be The Thing and Village, and The Thing already has a decent Blu, but I'm a sucker for Carpenter.

I really hope they have a huge surprise like the Phantasm collection or Jaws sequel trilogy, or Romero Dead trilogy.

Finally, I hope there are some Vincent Price titles announced after Comic Con, and maybe, just maybe, some Universal monster or Hammer horrors!

9 from Universal, and 1 from MGM. I'm kind of hoping there's more variety. I remember last year's announcement consisted of 10 titles, all from MGM, and that was pretty sad to be honest.

Everyone is chiming in with predictions, so I will post mine as well, with reasoning behind each.

- Phantasm Boxset: They released part II last year, Part V is due out soon, and, if last year's Halloween Boxset taught us anything, it's that Scream and Anchor Bay can get along just fine.

- The Thing: Universal's blu ray is a few years old. They have a healthy relationship w/Universal, and they love announcing Carpenter at Comic Con

- Tremors: Again, outdated Universal blu ray, etc..

- Village Of The Dammed: Carpenter, Universal. Rinse, repeat.

WISHLIST:

- Wishmaster: Overdue for a blu ray release. Certainly in Scream's wheelhouse

- Jaws 2, 3 and 4. Yeah, I know, they shot it down, but a boy can dream.

- Dawn Of The Dead: I'd move mountains to have the 4 disc collector's edition brought to blu with everything in HD

- Slaughter High - Nostalgia plays a big part with this one

DOUBTFUL

- Dead Trilogy: Pretty sure the rights to II reside with Lionsgate

I'd be surprised if Shout got The Thing from Universal.

Dead trilogy = Romero's zombie trilogy.
