People aren't obligated to buy it. If they don't want it on their shelf then why bother purchasing it?

I'm not disappointed because of the announcements. I'm disappointed because their Summer of Fear Sale is f**king sh**ty. Last year there were better deals. Some of the CE were 15.99. Now they're 17.99.

The MGM release is NOT great. It's simply not the movie I grew up with. The loss of an original soundtrack may not mean much to some movies, but it's a huge part of this one.

I went from FAINT to.. oh okay.. these are cool. The Godzilla news wasnt what I had hoped but you know what, that Classic Media DVD set is still A+ in my book so as much as id like to have them on blu ray, I can wait.

Now for the other titles I had heard. If they were announced I would have been more excited yes, but I dont even know if the titles are for streaming or blu ray.. The titles I heard Ive been a fan of for much longer than the titles that were announced..
Some of the titles I only just saw them not too long ago... save for the Car actually
I did stream Death Becomes Her and its a great film - I will pick it up
I rented Lady in White and thats also a great film, and was surprised that it wasnt announced here.. as I suspect they do have it. It wouldnt surprise me if they did ..
The Car Ill get to replace the Arrow one depending on content, I do prefer Region A titles in my collection.. Blood and Lace I will get after I streamed it and its a good flick , The Guardian will be a blind buy unless I can rent it. Nightmares I did rent and its good, the best part is the big rat..

Troll I saw a year ago, and thought it stunk.. oh well.. cant like em all !

Will definitely be keeping this one on my list:

5. THE GUARDIAN (1990) – From the Director of The Exorcist!

And will have to look into these:

4. GHOST STORY (1981)
6. THE CAR (1977)
7. NIGHTMARES (1983)
8. DEATH BECOMES HER(1992)

Yeah and some people like to collect things that are from the same 'range/collection'. It's an OCD thing.

Garbage Pail Kids is a CE because it's probably pretty easy to get any of the second-rate "talents" involved for the extras. It's a little bit harder to get Streep or Willis for something like Death Becomes Her.

Solid set of announcements today! I'll be picking up all of them on day one.

As always though, there appears to be nothing but whining in this thread. The majority of you sound like a bunch of spoiled brats on Christmas morning. Get over it. The fact that a company like Scream Factory is around, to release older niche titles on Blu-ray is reason enough to celebrate.

Everything truly jaw dropping is either with Lionsgate or Warner Bros. more or less, and since they're off limits I highly suggest you manage your expectations...
I don't necessarily disagree with that, however I don't feel SF did themselves any favors with the titles they chose to reveal at ComicCon. Perhaps it's just me, but I would argue that both Tales From The Crypt films and Army of Darkness are bigger "name" titles than any of the ones announced at the panel, with Return of the Living Dead coming the closest. Announcing those titles ahead of time, while continuing to hype their SDCC announcements, will naturally build expectations for titles of a similar stature, and unfortunately, I don't feel they delivered on that regard. In my opinion, they should've saved the TFTC films and AOD for ComicCon, and maybe switched them out for some of the "weaker" titles they elected to announce early. That would've probably helped curb some of the disappointment.

And I was just saying people had unrealistic expectations, you should have known from previous announcements the type of stuff Scream is releasing. Besides they already revealed Army of Darkness and the two Crypt movies so there weren't much "big" reveals left.
See what I said above. It's best not to blow your wad early; if they didn't have much "big reveals" left, it would be better to save them for events like this.

Again, the UK release has the original soundtrack, and can be played on US players, thanks to the Top Menu trick.

Would be great if Scream included the ROTLD Workprint. 20 minutes of deleted scenes!

I read the last 10 pages of this thread. It went something like this. Guessguessguessguessguessguess.......ANNOUCEMENT.. ...................Whinewhinewhinewhinewhinew hinewhinewhine............Just my personal interpretation. Happy I'll be getting some titles I've waited years to get. But I can understand why companies either completely ignore, or go nuts when they read forums like this.

Well, if they come up with some good extras (commentary, interviews with Moriarity or Dreyfus), I'd pick up the Troll blu.

Its because had Scream announced these at any other time except comic con this wouldn't be happening. Like someone else said, if you make a big deal about announcing titles at comic con make sure they are worthy titles of such a venue.

Purely conjecture on my part, but I have a feeling the timing of SDCC simply doesn't work with their September/October release plans and prebooking requirements. I don't think they've ever announced a title at SDCC that was slated to be released any earlier than that November. I think this has actually been a problem for them since they started doing SDCC, where some of the titles they've announced leading up to SDCC have been splashier than the titles they announce at SDCC.

Sad, but true, it's not unique to this year's SDCC announcements. Personally, I think this year was stronger than 2013, but not quite as strong as 2014.
