It's the people who gear-up to start hating it before it even streets, and you know people are doing it. It just seems like the "Scream Factory" titles are the easiest targets. I wonder what those types of people get enjoyment out of?

I bet they can only make love when some kind of perfect hi-def 3D* blu-ray film is playing on TV. Like, "honey, I got an idea, let's put on "Mad Max: Fury Road" while we have sex, wouldn't that be kinky!?"

These guys must've been virgins for the entire VHS-era.

*Previously used the term "4k", after a butt-hurt member claimed there was no 4k version to speak of, I changed my JOKE to my it a little accurate to please all the butt-hurt joke police around here.

I wish "Bordello of Blood" didn't suck so bad, but I gotta have it for the new Corey Feldman interview.

The older I get and with each re-visit I like the film more and more. I watched it initially on vhs when I was 14 or so (BOOBS!) But found it to be just ok. I avoided it for many years after but have been revisiting it yearly for the past few years and with each year and recieiwing I find that I enjoy it more and more. I'll never like it as much as Demon Knight, but this one has climbed the ranks quite a bit.

Sorry but in the majority of cases, and I mean Majority, the so called "bashers" have valid and legit and in most cases factual points being made about how SF kind of half asses a number of the transfers.

No one should expect perfection from any studio but there are companies that put SF to shame. One in particular that I believe has less people within the company. 2-3 I believe.

If you're referring to Synapse then I'll take Scream Factory's issues and VAST output over 2 titles a year with fantastic quality prints. As has been stated before, if someone else wants to tackle these films later and put in even more money to get an arguably minor upgrade, more power to them, but at this point if it's making it to Blu Ray with a decent amount of extras I consider that a win, and there's no denying the fact that without Scream Factory we wouldn't have the mountain of titles to choose from that we do.

Th simple reality is that if the Major Studios cared about these films we wouldn't have to rely on these smaller studios, but given the times, every new title on blu ray is a win for me regardless of a few flaws.

You have to remember that some of us are actual film geeks/buffs and care about the movie and how it looks and sounds. Not about extras and silly slipcovers and slipcover art.

SF's VAST output is because they rush most of the transfers. For them it's quantity over quality.

But, what really separates the two aside from a better cast in the first, is that "Demon Knight" was actually scary to me at times as a teen and also creative and very interesting with a cool backstory.

In short, "Demon Knight" wins every time.
And yet, my favorite line will forever be: "Get that ***** off the table! ... I meant the cat."

Would anyone else like to see a Dawn of the Dead reissue released in the same vein as Army of Darkness?

Why? Do you have ties to the producers and are able to make it happen? Cause it ain't happenin' otherwise

Everyone would. It's just the rights owner apparently wants a king's ransom for it.

Everybody wants to see it happen, but the fact of the matter is that it isn't realistic.

I would be very interested to hear what he/she/they are asking for it. Maybe they are waiting for Romero to pass and hope to capitalize on some sort of demand for this title? Whoever it is, they obviously would rather sit on the film than make easy money.....like Lionsgate.

Lionsgate is foolish for not licensing their titles, especially since they've obviously been creating HD masters for even their shittiest titles. Case in point: Ghoulies 3. It's on Netflix in HD and it looks shockingly good, but they'll never put it on Blu.

Maybe it's for some kind of Lionsgate surge into the Blu-Ray market?
[Show spoiler]

GREAT. Time for even more custom BD25s to make along with a lot of encoding.
Even though I really don't want to make anymore since I now have a couple of spindles of them, so around 100+. Tons of titles unavailable on Blu-ray but when a decent HD master is available I put it onto Blu-ray. It's usually similar to an AVCHD where you put the BD25 in and the movie just plays. Sure I do find some subtitles for them.
I'd rather just have these be properly released though from any company around the planet. Except I'm still keeping some of the alternate cuts/versions I find of certain movies. More of a fan hobby and frees up hard drive space. ESPECIALLY for sequels unavailable on Blu-ray anywhere on the planet.

But that's for another thread.
