Am I too late to the "show off your Scream BDs" party? Oh and I finally got Sleepaway Camp and Lake Placid from Amazon. As you can see Sleepaway Camp came with a slip but Lake Placid did not. Super bummed out by that.

And I really like minimalist films like Open Water and Frozen. Slow-burn low-budget indy thrills are my thing. But this is pure Sy-Fy Channel type junk, but with much less CGI than Sy-Fy Channel to make it feel like it's more 'respectable'. But it's the same type of stupid script and boring characters as Sy-Fy, CGI filled or not. 91 irritating idiot-filled minutes.
You're the first person I've seen express such disdain for the film. The comments I've read have all been positive. I haven't watched the film as of yet, however your comments are reflective of what I assumed my own feelings would be if I were to take the time to watch it. I'd slowly been warming up to the idea of checking this out based on the warm reviews... you'r comments have helped push this one waaaaay back down the list.

I'm hopeful I'll be able to find this at a reasonable price sooner rather than later to check out more of his work.
As much as I love Fessenden as an actor, his films, IMO, are terrible...but YMMV.

Thanks for the pics. I'm still excited to receive my copy (and to see Wendigo in HD!), but that "Updated Content" sticker is ridiculous. Scream couldn't flaunt their poor quality control any louder if they tried.

I buy every "collector' edition" release, then pick and choose from the rest. I do it for the posters, I love them.

What would you guys say are the top must have "non-collector's edition" titles from SF to get?

Everyone is different but for me

The Nest
I' Madman
Monkey Shines
Terrorvision/The Video Dead
Leviathan
Bad Dream/Visiting Hours

but without doubt my favourite non-collector's edition would be Witchboard. A great release of a great movie imo and one that is a CE without a slip for me.

The non collectors editions they've put out that I own are The Final Terror and The Island. I'm going to pick up Stigmata, Nightmares, and Dungeon Master in the future. Another that may be worth getting is Cellar Dweller. Yeah Witchboard is pretty cool, too.

I thought it was awful too. Boring unlikable characters, poorly shot, poorly written, poorly acted, and the bear only shows up maybe twice? It was a chore to sit through. It was even worse than Into The Grizzly Maze, at least that was beautifully shot and had likable characters / decent actors.

I love Dead Heat and that uk quad poster is rarer than rockin horse shit too. If you want you can see a full look at it here in this short video i did, there is also an even rarer Freddy's Revenge poster in the video too.

If someone could post the video up fpr me it would be appreciated, i can't seem to do it.

Maybe not what you had in mind since it's a Shout title instead of Scream, but I would give my highest recommendation to Southern Comfort. I think a lot of people forget or ignore this one since it isn't part of the Scream line, even though it's scarier than a majority of their Scream titles.

Lots of praise for Witchboard lately. Bought this as part of last years Shout Halloween sale as a blind buy and still haven't watched it. I'll add it to the list of to watch for Halloween this year As far as other non-collectors editions go, I've always liked Stigmata. Also like Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh quite a bit too. Crawlspace, Death Valley and Slumber Party Massacre were decent, but wouldn't be my top picks. Wish I could help more but a bunch of them are still in the "to watch" pile!

That is a pretty fantastic SF collection! Looks good without the slipcovers too (waiting for the slipcover police to comment), nice and organized. My entire collection is alpha with slipcovers and steelbooks all mixed in.

It's about 90%. I can't keep up with the frequency of releases anymore. Contemporary titles always comes last. As far as "classic" releases go, I'm still missing:

The Beast of the Hollow Mountain/The Neanderthal Man
Food of the Gods/Frogs
Metamorphosis/Beyond Darkness
Stigmata
Tentacles/Reptilicus

The new IFC stuff has been $10 at BB on release week and I've been trying to grab those. The earlier Chiller stuff I get mostly through trade or used. I'll get Toolbox Murders 2 if I can find it for less than $5 or if I have extra cash and there is literally nothing else I want.
