Army of Darkness should be shipping soon for those of us that ordered from Scream right?

Going to do a marathon leading up to the premiere of Ash vs The Evil Dead.

Yeah, I have all of the Featured titles for the week. But there are a few decent prices in the Stone Cold Deals. May pick up the Scanners Double Feature for $9.99 and Night of the Comet for $14.99 as a Christmas gift for a friend who has been wanting it for a while.

I've got $80 in Wal-Mart Gift Cards I've been sitting on as part of my payment for being involved with their advisory panel and was planning on picking up a bunch of Scream Factory titles here soon once I got my most recent $10 gc (Should arrive on the 9th) but today's Sale had me jump the gun just a bit. I went ahead and ordered Sleepaway camp II and III at the sale price with free shipping to snag myself a magnet set. This free's up 2 of the more expensive titles I was planning on ordering from Wal-mart, so now I can either get the two new Tales from the Crypt films, or 3 older films for roughly the same price. At the moment in addition to the 2 I just ordered I now plan on for sure grabbing...

-Shocker
-The Sentinel

And will select a few from the following (Bolded Ones are likely choices)...

-Slumber Party Massacre
-Cat People
-Scarecrows
-Tales from the Crypt Bordello...
-Tales From the Crypt Demon Knight

-Swamp thing
-Lifeforce
-Nosferatu
-Dolls
-Lord of Illusions
-Howling II

I bought 10-15 movies during last years Shocktober sale. Basically the start of my SF collection. Now with the dollar and possible duty charges I don't think it makes much sense.

I ordered Ghost Town even though it would have been cheaper to buy via Amazon but I get the free Magnets so it's all good.

Just watched some films released by Scream Factory for the first time, and I thought I'd share my thoughts.
Amityville II: The Possession- Talk about a weird movie. It genuinely had my interest until the last half hour. After that, I got really bored. And then it turned into the last act of The Exorcist for the last 15 mins. It totally lost me. I would not really recommend it.
Lord of Illusions- Talk about a mixed bag. Unlike I did with Nightbreed, I did not read the story upon which this is based. I thought that the performances were all really... okay. I thought the story was really okay. The CGI was abysmal, but what do you expect from an early-to-mid 1990s movies that wasn't T2 or Jurassic Park. Some good set pieces, but it ultimately did not keep my interest. Maybe that's why I had a hard time following it. I think Barker probably should have left his directing career alone after Hellraiser.

Honestly, I personally would consider LOI to be Barker's weakest directorial effort.

the original Hellraiser is an obvious classic (though I personally prefer Hellbound) and Nightbreed is a fun romp (especially in its much superior director's cut form) but Lord of Illusions kinda leaves me cold.

Some good ideas and nice set pieces but overall just kinda eh in the sum of its parts.

Everything about LOI just sort of falls flat. It's not a badly crafted film, but it's uninvolving and uninteresting.

I also thought the story it was based on was rather dull, and when the movie was announced it surprised me that it was even made into a film. Barker seems to have a certain amount of affection for his Harry D'Amour character since he has dropped him into several of his novels like Everville and Scarlet Gospels.

Out of the movies you listed The Sentinel is the definite must get.
after that I'd go
Slumber Party Massacre
Cat People
Life Force
Nosferatu
Lord of Illusions
Dolls
then Shocker
haven't watched Scarecrows yet or got the TFTC movies yet
Swamp Thing is fun but it is was it is
and Howling II is what it is, which is Howling II

I don't know if anyone is following, But Steve Johnson just posted on his Facebook page that he finished up Blu-ray commentaries for Species II and Humanoids from the Deep.

Maybe we will get Species 1-4 although all but first pretty much sucked.. Would love to see extras on first and Gigers work.

I'm all for getting Species II on Blu.

The current Humanoids disc is fine, though.

Is he affiliated with Scream/Shout? Does this mean they're doing a Humanoids rerelease?

I'd love to see a better release of the original Species. I loved that film; it was a huge guilty pleasure of mine back in the day.

I saw one of the sequels and hated it...never bothered with the others.

There was a Humanoids remake in 1996. Could he be talking about that?

Oh, and who is Steve Johnson?

No Steve worked on the ORIGINAL Humanoids From the Deep. He is a Special Effects guy who worked on Humanoids, Species II and others

Me thinks Species 2 ,3 4 and Humanoids under *the Scream brand* are getting released by Scream Factory. Humanoids with new extras, a slipcover and a Scream logo on the spine..

Oh, okay. Surprising that SF would give Humanoids another release.

I just don't see SF releasing Species 3 and 4. I'm predicting just 1 and 2, likely as a double feature.

I'll take a Scream Factory edition Species but will skip the sequels should they acquire them. Another edition of Humanoids sounds desperate. Time to start looking at other libraries, SF

Do you really not know who Steve Johnson is? Not sure if you where joking or not. Any big horror fan should know who he is. He is a FX artist and Ex-husband of Linnea Quigley
