I wonder if HUMANOIDS will be the same previously released version with extra shots of gore? ... along with the alternate main title shot of "Monster"?

Yep. I'm pretty sure MGM own the international rights to Humanoids, so it would make sense. If for the UK there are several possibilities:

Arrow (unlikely I would have thought, purely on the basis of Species 2)
Eureka (very unlikely)
101 Films (I don't think they do many new extras, so probably not them)
Second Sight (possible - they have already released another Corman-produced film, Piranha)
Signal One Entertainment (also possible given that they're producing new extras)

Kind of less than thrilled about this years deals. I thought last year was better.

I picked up 2 -

The Horror Show and Invaders From Mars

I have a hard time buying something that's $18 and feeling like I took advantage of a sale. I'm sure they'll be cheaper someday or someplace else.

Amityville II: The Possession- Talk about a weird movie. It genuinely had my interest until the last half hour. After that, I got really bored. And then it turned into the last act of The Exorcist for the last 15 mins. It totally lost me. I would not really recommend it.
Lord of Illusions- Talk about a mixed bag. Unlike I did with Nightbreed, I did not read the story upon which this is based. I thought that the performances were all really... okay. I thought the story was really okay. The CGI was abysmal, but what do you expect from an early-to-mid 1990s movies that wasn't T2 or Jurassic Park. Some good set pieces, but it ultimately did not keep my interest. Maybe that's why I had a hard time following it. I think Barker probably should have left his directing career alone after Hellraiser.

I might be alone in this, but in regards to early 90's CGI work, what I once considered abysmal and borderline unwatchable, I now consider somewhat charming. I haven't seen Lord of Illusions, but having watched The Lawnmower man a few months back I find it somewhat fascinating to see how bad some of the CGI was and how far we've come. A movie like the Lawnmower Man is actually a prime example of the kind of films Hollywood should be remaking. They made small splashes upon release. Aren't remembered all that well, had atrocious CGI, but the ideas were often ahead of their time (and Budget). I'm extra sensitive to poor CGI... I can't stand most Syfy channel productions and a lot of the dreck these days that just uses it too much and does it poorly. I do find enjoyment in the early 90's work however in that A) No one really knew what the hell they were doing if they didn't have Jurassic Park or T2 budgets and B) The technology was at it's early stages where people were still learning what they could and couldn't do well.

It very well may be nostalgia, but even a film like The Lawnmower man which I never really liked when it first premiered I enjoyed quite a bit these days. I've been curious about Lord of Illusions for a while now, and it's slowly been working it's way up my list of priority titles to buy, so I'm curious to see how my impression differs from yours.

The Sales are actually pretty good and far better than the Summer sale. Outside of Psycho II and III all of the titles fall well below $18. Occasionally they can be found for less than the current sale prices, but not often, and typically not by much. Plus, Free Magnets!

Ah I forgot about those. Things have gone pretty quiet since, but they'd definitely be a decent bet for these titles if they are indeed UK-bound.

I dont see the first one since it has a good release from MGM. They would probably do it if they could add even more to it that is substantial. Humanoids is interesting, I think they just want it in the Scream library for collectors and fanboys who want to align it on the shelves that have Scream brand labels on it , but I admit this is a curious re-release if it is really so

The stuff in The Lawnmower Man is supposed to look computer generated; you can't compare it with movies that use CGI to represent real things.

The stuff in The Lawnmower Man is supposed to look computer generated; you can't compare it with movies that use CGI to represent real things.
It looks computer generated because they had no where near the budget to recreate actual virtual reality images. It also was a close representation of where Virtual Reality was at the time. So while yes it was supposed to have a video gamey look about it, it wasn't intended to look as bad as it does. If they had the budget and resources you can bet it'd look a lot closer to T2 than it does.

I broke down and ordered The Funhouse last month, and thoroughly enjoyed revisiting it this past weekend. It's definitely one of the better Scream Factory Blu-ray presentations, and it's a great Halloween flick all around. For some reason, when I watched The Funhouse years ago, it did not quite take with me, but I had a hankering to give it another shot, and I'm glad that I did.

I just took one for the team and ordered The Changeling (1980) on DVD, because I've been dying to see the movie again, and I'm tired of waiting for a Blu-ray release. The DVD is only five dollars on Amazon right now, and I'm rocking out a one-month Prime membership trial, so this was a good time to go for it. I've seen the film many times in the past, but, for some reason, never owned a physical copy. It's truly one of the most outright scary films ever made.

So, if The Changeling is announced on Blu-ray by Scream or some other studio at some point soon, then y'all can all thank me. A simple "Thank you." will suffice, but I am always happy to receive money, Blu-ray gifts, cake, cookies, and such as well.
