I've seen the film many times in the past, but, for some reason, never owned a physical copy. It's truly one of the most outright scary films ever made.

So, if The Changeling is announced on Blu-ray by Scream or some other studio at some point soon, then y'all can all thank me. A simple "Thank you." will suffice, but I am always happy to receive money, Blu-ray gifts, cake, cookies, and such as well.

The Changeling is in the same category, for me, as The Exorcist in terms of films that genuinely scare the bejeezus out of me. I can only watch The Changeling in broad daylight, especially now since I'm living alone

Any US Blu-ray would come from Warner AFAIK since the film is controlled by HBO. Maybe it'll turn up on the Archives program

Agreed. The Changeling is not simply a Horror movie, it's a great film like Rosemary's Baby, The Exorcist, Carrie, The Omen, and Halloween.

Well, if they can do it for Slumber Party Massacre (and Bad Dreams/Visiting Hours) then they can do it for Humanoids from the Deep.

Huh?

SPM and BD/VH weren't previously on blu-ray.

Those didn't already have Blus, though, they were DVD only. Shout already released a great Blu for Humanoids with a nice little booklet & reversible art, I highly doubt they'll re-release it. (And I still can't believe that the deleted scenes they included look so fantastic, almost as good as the film itself.)

Dedicating most of my October movie watching to horror. So far, I've watched Crawlspace, Lord of Illusions, Nightbreed, The Fog & Witchboard as far as SF releases go. Most of these were blindbuys for me, so it was nice to finally get around to catching up on them. It was actually my first time seeing the Fog, not sure why I never got around to it. A lot of people will probably disagree with me but I found the Fog too slow and a little boring. Expected to really enjoy it because I think I've liked every Carpenter movie I've ever seen.

I agree with you on The Fog. Really nice atmosphere but very slow and a bit boring at times. Definitely the worst film from his golden era if you ask me. I still own it though mainly because I'm a collector and have most of Carpenter's films.

Not sure it makes any financial sense for Shout to re-visit Humanoids. How many sales can they get out of a pretty niche title that is already in the hands of fans?

I'd wager on a UK release

I think that it would be a good idead to re-release the Horror Blu Rays from the Corman line as part of the Scream Factoyr line. I always hated these Corman banners. I am sure that it would attract additional customers, some might even rebuy the discs to complete their scream set:

-Forbidden World
-Galaxy of Terror
-Piranha
-Humanoids from the Deep
-The Stepfather

Of course I would prefer the long overdue Blus of Slumber Party Massacre 2+3 and The Evil.

The Fog is my second-favorite Carpenter film. It oozes atmosphere, has a great ensemble, one of his eeriest scores and some really creepy moments. And I wouldn't necessarily call it "slow," but rather deliberately-paced, as Carpenter has always had a knack for pacing his movies perfectly for effective suspense. I love it a lot and don't find it at all boring. It's one of my go-to horror flicks.

Death Becomes Her is set for Spring 2016. Also,

Quote:
***NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT FOR 2016 RELEASE***

You asked for it, we listened! The underrated 2000 slasher flick CHERRY FALLS will be coming to Blu-ray for the first time sometime next Spring. Stars include Brittany Murphy (Clueless, 8 Mile), Jay Mohr (Pay it Forward, Street Kings) , Michael Biehn (The Terminator, Aliens), Jesse Bradford (Bring it On, Swimfan) and Gabriel Mann (Revenge).

As excited as we are to be able to bring this to you (finally) we do need to address upfront the question we know some of you will have: Will it be uncut?

We were fully aware that the film suffered trims from the MPAA prior to its release so when we acquired the film we hoped that we could find the additional footage and include it—either as deleted scenes or reinstated into the film. Unfortunately, our licensor (Universal) only has the theatrical R-rated version in their vault (the same cut that was released on the long out-of-print DVD) and they do not have cut footage in question.

Plan B: We contacted the film’s Director Geoffrey Wright to see if maybe he might have the excised material but were told that he was never given a chance to assemble a longer cut originally. He did not have the footage either.

That being said, we still hope that fans will support the release in High-def. Extras are planned and will be announced at a later date. New key art is also in the works too.

I agree with you. I don't care for The Fog but it does have one of the best scores Carpenter ever did. Second only to Halloween in my opinion.

I don't own The Fog on video but I do own the 2 CD score release. Strongly recommended.

Exciting news about Cherry Falls. Too bad about the lost footage, though. I'd love to see the original cut someday.

Really? While I love The Exorcist, The Changeling I gilt was a bit too slow & boring. Didn't scare or entertain me in the slightest. Definitely don't think it's on the same level as The Exorcist.

Got my copies of Sleepaway camp II and III today direct from Scream Factory as part of the sale (Ordered on the first day of the sale). Both arrived in probably the best condition any movie ever has that I've ordered online, this is all the more impressive when you look at the envelope they were shipped in. The slips are perfectly minty fresh. I've very fortunate to have some gentle mailmen. The Magnets are nice as well. They don't have a sturdy cardboard backer this time though, so the bottom section was folded over leaving it less sturdy then I'd like, but overall I'm happy to have them.
