But I trust your judgement, even though every Corman title you put out on DVD only is like a dagger in my soul...
Well, I wish more people had bought the Blu-Rays so we could have done more. We couldn't continue to lose money on each one.

They were too pricey initially. I know you guys are a small business, but $25+ for cinema cheese is hard to deal with when grade-A films are going for $15 most everywhere else. This is a partially unqualified option though because I don't own any of your titles yet, so I can't say if that makes up for the higher price.

I still plan to buy a couple of em though before you guys decide to stop printing them. Either way, I've happily preordered three of your Scream Facotry titles through Amazon even though they are violating my $15 rule. Having the rights to They Live is quite a coup for you guys (IMHO).

We aren't the only ones priced over $25 dollars. We aren't a studio, we don't own the content. We had to do new transfers on 95% of the films and we loaded them with extras.

I thought all your releases of the Corman Films were great! I'm really bummed that they didn't sell better. It's not for a lack of trying. I really appreciated the extra mile that you went with the extras and so forth. And I think your prices are fine. Every person who runs out to buy The Lorax this week should also buy a Corman Blu-Ray on the way out! LOL! It's the least you could do..

I would have priced them higher actually, like 40.

If you don't own the content, how do you authorize the new transfers? Does the studio do it at your command, how does that work?

we get access to the film elements and we do the transfers if a HD transfer doesn't already exist.

I dont mind paying 20-30 dollars on a movie I truly love and enjoy. Quality over quantity. Every Scream Factory pre-order I have made has been with a smile on my face.

Yes, yes, yes. I would die for Silver Bullet. It is absolutely one of my all time favorite horror movies. I have the UK DVD for the commentary although it's not a very good one.

Funny, I was just thinking about The Dead Zone today. That scene with the scissors . . .

Paramount should just license their whole catalog away, they aren't doing anything with it.

Im sure the best Corman sellers were Galaxy of Terror, Humanoids From The Deep , the horror & scifi. At least that's what I think.
Scream Factory is a small business & they cant afford to lose money doing this otherwise we'll lose them. This is why they have to release more well known titles like Halloween 2 with the occasional obscure ones like the Island. They wont stay in business releasing movies like the Island for a living. They will sell but obviously movies like Halloween 2,3 will sell twice as well. I really hope they do well with these releases because we need a company like them to release the genre titles that major studios either do nothing with or MOD them.
Speaking of Paramount
Dont forget
Prophecy !!!

I'm not being critical, just giving you feedback. Like I said, it's only my opinion and it's a partially unqualified one at that.

A quality Bluray is definitely worth 25 bucks or more. That's a reasonable price point especially for how loaded these discs look to be.

Also since everyone is making suggestions. How about Godzilla 1985? I don't think that even has a DVD. I would also ask for Godzilla vs. Biollante, but I think Echobridge already has it, sadly.

A decent Night of the Living Dead bluray would be nice too. I think the title is public domain last time I checked, and people are still begging for a good release.

Fright Night Part II seems to be on a lot of wish lists. It's either Lionsgate or Paramount that's sitting on it. Go get it Cliff.

Default Shout Factory DVDs/Blu's Worth Every Penny

People lament when Echo Bridge shits out yet another subpar release but justify it because it's "economically priced" - no problem. Shame on Shout Factory for charging "too much" for making an effort to release a film in the best possible version, but praise them anyway. People blow $20 on a trip to McDonalds without batting an eye, yet there's a problem if they have to spend $20 on a DVD they can watch over and over?

The quality on the Shout Factory Corman blu ray titles is amazing and it makes me sad to hear they weren't profitable. I can't wait to add the Scream Factory titles to my collection and I hope they will prove to be more successful.
