Unless a new deal is/has been struck with Warner, Paramount, Fox, Sony or Lionsgate, I just don't see 2016 having nearly as many catalog films. We'll still see a fair amount throughout the year, but I think that the balance between old and new will shift dramatically in the new year barring any new deals. I will say that a very large part of me is hoping for a Surprise Tales from the Hood Announcement on Halloween though.
I'd love that as well. I've been so close to buying Tales from the Hood on DVD a few times this year but I keeping holding out hope.

The DVD is quite atrocious as it is window boxed and non-anamorphic so keep that in mind if/when you purchase it. I was fortunate to pick up a copy a year or two ago for around $6. It's better than nothing, for sure, but is LONG overdue for a new release.

And conveniently relieving me of my much lower price!
I'm sure the price will drop on this new ASIN, eventually.

Let's hope. Although as of last week they said no. Coincidentally the Australian set is using some of Scream's special features as well.

Per the director of Tales from the Hood:

Where are my FEAR OF A BLACK HAT & TALES FROM THE HOOD Blu-rays, @RustyCundieff?? I'd even buy SPRUNG, if you make this happen.
No shit! Universal has lost the original prints of Tales -- so a Blu-ray is a no-way. Fear we shot on 16mm, so worth it? Duno

I thought Sprung was -- Tales is tied up at Universal which doesn't seem to care! Is it not on Amazon?

Got Army of Darkness in from Amazon. Can't wait to watch this again even though I've seen it quite a lot already. I'll probably watch 1 cut of the movie each night for the next 3 days then go into the extras.

I'm not so sure. I think, thanks to the Universal deal, Scream could continue at their current rate through 2016, though beyond that might be difficult. The MGM (especially), Fox and Universal deals still have a way to go yet before complete exhaustion, rights and materials permitting. They might also consider releasing more pre-1970 titles, especially as they already have the rights to a fair few MGM-owned titles from this period, having already released them on DVD.

I think we're likely to see less and less Collector's Editions however if Scream don't enjoy any success outside of the aforementioned three studios. Looking at MGM, I'd say the only titles which might get a CE are The Curse, The Resurrected and maybe Species II at a push (Buckaroo Banzai is another option, should they go for that). Fox, I'd say Alien Nation would be the only realistic possibility, unless I'm forgetting something. Universal definitely offer the most potential, with The Burbs, Raising Cain, Matinee, Village of the Damned, and maybe Serial Mom and Session 9. That said, I definitely expect to see more upgrades of previously-released titles (a la People Under the Stairs and Return of the Living Dead), which would definitely give them another 20 at least to play around with.

Those extras on Brain sound awesome even the MST3K episode included. Now if Shout puts Melting Man in the MST3K sets too.

Nice extras on GPK.

Im truly satisfied with the AOD blu-ray as it has wonderful extras galore and 4 versions, the international version looks great in it's new transfer.

What are your guy's recommendations for good releases from these guys? I recently got Army of Darkness and am loving the different cuts and extras. Just curious as to what other releases you guys think are up to par with it! Thanks!

I went to a Target near me today and in their clearance media section they had multiple Scream Factory blu-rays that were marked online order, most were only marked down to $15.xx - but I did pick up The Howling brand new with slip cover for $5.96, that was unexpected.

For Fox I'd Expect The Fly II in some fashion, Universal I'd say Village of the Damned is a given (though obviously I'm hoping for Tales from the Hood), MGM I'm thinking at some point we'll see CE of Child's Play II and III, but otherwise your list looks pretty good.

MGM only has the first film. All of the sequels are with Universal.

That being said, I still wouldn't rule out the possibility.
