Also, if they're dipping back into their Corman titles for blu-ray upgrades, a double feature of Twice Dead and Grotesque would be great fun.

My Money is on C.
So I reached out to Amazon two days ago since it never shipped out/arrived and they refunded me (and gave me a $5 credit). Low and behold on my front steps this morning:

Would have been over the moon about paying $14.88 for this but FREE?!

Anyone have any idea who owns the rights to HP Lovecrafts Necronomicon (1993)? I was fortunate to check out the French Blu Ray which looks quite good besides a few source issues here and there, but overall certainly good enough to release as is in the States. I'd love to see this one get the Scream Factory Treatment.

I think its with Brian Yuzna like the rest of his films. Id guess he would have a US release if someone meets his price for it

Interesting... so perhaps an Arrow release is possible in the next year or two. Fingers Crossed. Thanks for the info as always!

I finally picked up From a Whisper to a Scream this last week and decided on watching it tonight. Quick question for anyone that owns this release... does the Theatrical Trailer Special feature play for you guys? Whenever I select it from the special features list the screen goes black and nothing happens. I can use pop up menu/top menu to back out of the selection, but no matter how I try to play the trailer it always fails to load. Just curious if this was a problem with all copies, or if it's something exclusive to my disc.

Could he possibly have the rights to Return of the Living Dead 3 and Beyond Reanimator as well? Arrow seems to be releasing a lot of his films on bluray these days, but I wasn't sure if these would be available because of the ties to Lionsgate.

It would not surprise me if he did have both. The movie rights LG has could expire at some point, and if LG doesnt renew them, the rights would go to the producer.

There is also Faust and Arachnid - which might be with Lionsgate.

Some other tidbits - Image and Second Sight paid a lot for Re-Animator

Arrow met the price tag for two BZ movies, and could afford more I would think.

I also read on Synapse Films FB page a comment Synapse themsevles said - Rawhead Rex is with Lionsgate..Not good if that's the case. Nothing new on Godzilla 85 either, sometime in the next two years, Toho will have full control of it is all Ive heard.

My Bloody Valentine went back to Paramount but I think Warner has it as part of their 900 title deal with them. Warner picked up all of Paramounts key titles

I'm pretty sure Lionsgate has RotLDIII in perpetuity.

Title: Return of the living dead III. / directed by Brian Yuzna.
Description: 5 film reels ; 35 mm.
Copyright Claimant: Trimark Pictures, Inc. (employer for hire)
Date of Creation: 1993
Date of Publication: 1993-03-12
Previous Registration: Screenplay prev. reg. 30Oct92, PAu 683-902.
Copyright Note: See also Return of the living dead III; Reg. 12Oct01; PA 1-066-808
Names: Yuzna, Brian
Trimark Pictures, Inc.
Yuzna's 2000 - 2005 films were produced for Filmax International under a label he co-created with Julio Fernández Rodríguez, Fantastic Factory. I think US distribution for all of the Fantastic Factory films was handled by Lionsgate. It's unclear to me whether Lionsgate has perpetuity rights to those films in the United States or whether the films themselves are technically Filmax property or Yuzna property.

Well its either one or the other. It could be their film forever or their rights to it will expire, with most people hoping that's the case. From what I gathered some titles are long terms deals lasting like 10 years, if they expire and LG doesnt renew the rights, the movies can become "free agents"but they need to get picked up or the producer(s) will get them and they will want $$$ for their titles (Legend of the Werewolf, The Ghoul,Dawn of the Dead, Martin)

An example of rights changing hands were the Arkoff titles that LG had, lost and wound up in the hands of Shout Factory , so far for MST3K treatment

Does anyone know if Army Of Darkness and Tales From The Crypt: Demon Knight still comes with a slip cover when ordering through Scream Factory? I saw they both came out in October, and with it being January marks 3 months after release. I was wondering if Scream Factory still has slip covers for this knowing that they usually stop manufacturing slips at 3 months.

I'm still holding out hope for a Scream Factory release of Psycho IV.

It's almost unbelievable that they haven't released this yet considering some of the dreck they've put out on the label over the last couple of years.

I'm hopeful now that it has made its debut on the format that a US release won't be far behind.

It's just too bad that Scream couldn't get the rights to do something like Australia got with a full 5 movie set including the documentary and maybe Bates Motel. Heck, throw the remake in there too.
