Last night at New Beverly, they were doing a double bill of "Jaws 2" and "Damien: Omen II" and I inadvertently heard some of a conversation from one of the bigwigs over at Scream Factory in attendance. He said this year was, to paraphrase, "going to be a big one" with their fall and winter announcements they'll have at Comic-Con this year, so I wouldn't be surprised if the "Jaws" sequels were going to be part of it.

* Lord knows I was excited on the inside when he said they were releasing "Psycho IV" this fall.

IF Universal licenses the Jaws sequels to Shout!/Scream, I imagine they will probably look a lot like the Psycho II/III releases in that Universal won't permit new cover art.

That is if they are going to be a individual CE. They might have it in a set like with Amityville films.

Didn't Cliff say Universal rejected their request to license the Jaws sequels?

Yeah, but that was a while ago, and minds (and financial situations) can change.

Almost three years ago, and the reason given was that Universal was planning to release the sequels, themselves.

Wow, it was that long ago? I was thinking between 1-2 years.

Universal also had intentions of releasing The 'Burbs, a SE of The Thing, and SEs of the Child's Play sequels. The more time goes by, the more likely SF gets them.

If it is licensed to Scream Factory, I hope that improves the likelihood of a real 3D blu of Jaws 3D, like they did with Amityville 3D.

Yes you would need a 3D TV & 3D player if it is in Blu-Ray 3D. I have one that does 2D to 3D from LG which makes Christine look even better to me anyways. But they are over $500 for a used or new one from some stores old stock.

Unless they use the red/blue color glasses version which I really doubt if it is in 3D at all.

Ditto on the Real 3D conversions. Recently watched COMIN' AT YA! and that is a genuinely good movie. The 3D was pretty fun too (especially the scenes near the end with the spears and flaming arrows). You HAVE to get a passive 3D set just for CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON (which looks incredible).

Here is hoping that someone will eventually release a Real 3D version of FLESH FOR FRANKENSTEIN.

I was never a big 3D fanatic until I got a projector. Totally different experience than a television, and even different from theatrical 3D.

Now that Shout has a relationship with Universal, I'd love to see them release the Skulls on blu. It was kind of in line with some of the other 90s movies they've been releasing recently. Watching Disturbing Behavior last night made me think of it.

On another note, Village of the Damned dropped to $24.49 on Amazon.ca so I finally pre-ordered!

Well at least now we can finally move the Jaws sequels off the Universal list now (perhaps CE's might follow at some point, but that would surely be some time away).
