Scream Factory is a small business & they cant afford to lose money doing this otherwise we'll lose them. This is why they have to release more well known titles like Halloween 2 with the occasional obscure ones like the Island. They wont stay in business releasing movies like the Island for a living. They will sell but obviously movies like Halloween 2,3 will sell twice as well. I really hope they do well with these releases because we need a company like them to release the genre titles that major studios either do nothing with or MOD them.
Speaking of Paramount

If you only knew how hard it was to make those films look the way they did. It wasn't easy.
The sole print of SUBURBIA that had survived had turned completely purple.
Thanks to MGM, we had very good elements on HUMANOIDS (including the deleted scenes), GALAXY OF TERROR and PIRANHA.
I'm most proud of DEATH RACE which really looks nice. We spent a lot of time on that one.

Hey, cmac, do you guys charge for preorders as soon as you get them, or when you ship? I'd really like those mini posters for the extra couple of bucks, but I'm going with Amazon right now because I don't want to be charged for the Scream Factory titles until they ship.

I obtained a free copy via the HD broadcast downconvert to DVD copy floating about. Full widescreen, color corrected and surprisingly clean. Last time it was discussed in the TT Fright Night 1 thread, it was mentioned that Lionsgate owns part II. The version I have has a Sony bumper, but that was inserted by the person who took the time to do the HD broadcast rip for me and may not have been familiar with the proper ownership. Never the less, the HD version of Fright Night II out there already and shouldn't require any additional work to it. It's ready to go.

My inner-four-year-old self can recommend it on the basis that it will traumatize a young undeveloped mind.
I wondered into my parents living room on more than one occasion while this played on our TV. The part that will always be seared into my brain is the cage scene towards the end. I was so messed up after seeing that, I don't even know if I was able to seek refuge in sleep after that. No sweet dreams were to be found.
However, aside from that once scene, I don't remember much else and will be purchasing this movie simply to try and fill in the blanks.

The Scream Factory website doesnt charge until they ship the item out. Like most companies they you will send a pending transaction with the bank - and after a few days its gone, but the money isnt actually debited from your account until the movie ships.

If you pre-order a few months in advance, once a month you will see a pending debit from them but the money isnt taken out. They just make sure your account has the funds

Ive pre-ordered from them many times

I'd go with Halloween 3 over Terror Train in terms of blind buy. I think that Halloween 3 is really good, well rounded 80's horror film. Understand of course that Michael Myers is NOT in it, in fact when viewing it take off the 3 at the end of the title - just think of it as Halloween: Season of The Witch, disconnect it from the rest of the franchise.

I personally think Terror Train is a sloppy and fairly bad 80's horror movie. It is moreso good for the niche if you are a horror completist of the era. I was hoping for more a campy film but I found it just... bad.

Who knows, you may like Terror Train more than Halloween 3 in the end, but in terms of a blind buy I think that Halloween 3 would be the safer option. From what I remember it had a good John Carpenter/William Lustig vibe about it.

Hope this helps.

No problem, glad I could help. Import CDs is the same way. The ones that do debit your account when you pre-order are Classicflix and Flicker Alley. You should make sure your funds are there when you pre-order from them.
I am sure there are more but those I can vouch for.

TERROR TRAIN is an awesome 80's slasher - totally worth a blind buy!

I don't blind buy very often, but I'm considering this one given the company that it is being released in.

I wouldn't really recommend either of them, as a blind buy. I mean, if you absolutely love '80s slashers/horror, then yeah. But since you're asking, I'm guessing that's not the case.

Terror Train has decent production values (for a slasher), very little gore and even less nudity--though it does have a lot of magic. The second half is a bit suspenseful, but overall it's not in the same league as the great ones (Halloween or Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter), or even the good ones (Happy Birthday to Me or The Burning). Maybe I'd put it on the same level as The Prowler.

Halloween III is a pretty bizarre movie, with some cool music and Tom Atkins in a starring role. It's a bit creepy here and there, but again, a fairly mediocre experience. The set-up is fairly good, but the payoff ends up being kinda lame.

I'm going to go completely against what Seymour just said. Terror Train is way better the Friday The 13th 4. I saw TT a couple years ago and absolutely loved it. Top tier in my opinion.
