I'd say Maniac Cop, but my favorite release so far was "Dorm that Dripped Blood", the director's cut. It look beautiful!

I already knew they had those two...but it still makes me sad especially with Monster Squad that had a great release. The new Monster Squad release will probably have a trailer and that's it. It's actually quite sad considering it had such great special features...

I love me some Hammer films but there are some I can't stand. Horror of Dracula and Dracula Prince of Darkness are my two favorites. Rasputin The Mad Monk and Plague of the Zombies are fun but my guilty pleasure is Legend of the Seven Golden Vampires.

Intruder also looked fabulous - I've been more consistently impressed with Synapse's transfers than any other US company except Criterion, and even they've had a few instances where they were handed botched transfers, as with Children of Paradise.

I'm stoked! But what about "Night of the Demons III"? It was owned by the same rights holder, so why wasn't it included? Maybe someone else got it first, or maybe they didn't think it would sell? I'm not sure but I am curious, who even had the rights for the sequels?? Wasn't it Paramount via their Republic Library? So why not get 3 too? |

And I would say that many in this forum are probably die-hard horror fans. You say it sucked, I say it was cheesy. And I can't get enought cheesy movies! ![]() |

Lionsgate has 3 of the "Silent Night, Deadly Night" films, and an overflow of horror gems. I can't wait until Shout! can crack into their vaults. Sooner or later the major studios that actually do sub-liscense will run out of cult/horror movies to let them distribute, then we'll see other companies, like Lionsgate, make deals with Scream Factory! ![]() |

I believe this is the first time I've seen Diane Franklin grace any DVD bonus features since I first began collecting DVDs. Finally! My fond memories of "The Last American Virgin," "TerrorVision" and "Better Off Dead..." have spurred me preorder "TerrorVision" and check out her autobiography in quick succession. Franklin may not have been America's sweetheart, but as an avowed cult film fan, she is exactly that. If anything screams "Might Buy" to me, it's the trio of Cannon films they got the rights for: all I've seen of "Schizoid" is its trailer, which has only one creepy Klaus Kinski reaction shot but is enough to get my interest. "X-Ray (Hospital Massacre)" looks like fun, what with Boaz Davidson directing, Barbi Benton in the lead and a micro-"Bloody Birthday" reunion with Billy Jacoby and Elizabeth Hoy. Can't say I've heard of "The Godsend," and I'm not too familiar with with the works of either Gabrielle Beaumont or Angela Pleasance. But I'm intrigued and have hopes of a nice surprise. All of the titles on said want list are encouraged, as are "Deranged," "Scarecrows," "The Curse/Curse II: The Bite," Tobe Hooper's "Invaders From Mars," Tibor Takacs' "I, Madman" and maybe...just maybe...Brian Yuzna's "Society." And if they can get a deal with Paramount regardless of Olive Films, let there be BD special editions of "The Penthouse," "Bug" and "Jack's Back." In the meantime, I commend Scream! Factory for their increasing catalog and hope to collect nearly all of their releases. Last edited by JLBishop84; 12-02-2012 at 02:23 AM. Reason: Misspelled "Nicolaou" |
