The only reason I think they don't have Species is that I'd think they would've done a boxset with all four films. Unless that was the plan and they are having issues doing a remaster of the first? I'd doubt there'd be rights issue since they're all owned by MGM.

I'd like to see Last House on the Left get a release but I doubt they could improve upon the current disc, either in terms of PQ or special features. I wouldn't complain if they tried though.

I just remembered that next Friday is the 13th. While they didn't do anything special for the last one, they have done before. Maybe we might get some September announcements a little early.

I'm guessing we'll get some Special Features announcements on some already announced projects.

Well we're due any extras for The Crush, but it might be a little early for Bad Moon and the other late July releases, given they usually announce extras about six weeks in advance.

It seems like a lot of people only like the first film. Some like II, and less like III and IV. Maybe they felt putting them all in a set would limit sales because so many people only like the original?

That's me in a nutshell. I think the original Species is one of the better 90's sci-fi flicks. I didn't really care for any of the sequels. The second movie was ok I guess.

They didn't do anything for the last one in Novemeber, but for the other 2 Friday the 13ths last year (February and March) they made new title announcements, announced extras, and revealed custom art.

I see that The Deadly Spawn appears to be OOP.

Hey Cliff, you should contact Ted Bohus and do this film some justice.

Good luck on that. If you visited the DEADLY SPAWN thread, you'd know that is about as likely as Ken Russell's THE DEVILS getting a blu-ray release.

Sorry for offtopic, but i snapped up the rumour somewhere that criterion got the rights for the devils from warner.

I would be very surprised if Criterion got the rights for The Devils, though I would of course clap my fat hands in joy if it should come true.

The rumor I have heard over the years is that some religious high executive at Warner hates the film and does not want to see it released in the US ever.

But who knows?

I think Shout should move Nighthawks in the Scream library since they are doing extras and all since it's a thriller

It has to be someone with a great deal of power at Warner. BFI had to jump through so many hoops and twist so many arms just to get the rights to release the DVD in Europe, but Warner strictly forbid them to release it on BD and completely denied them access to the fully uncut version and 2004 restoration. I'm not sure why there's so much concern on the part of Warner because the vast majority of people who would be offended by that film would never see it. "The Devils" is a movie only hardcore film buffs, for the most part, know of.

Sorry if i'm treading over old ground but have Scream confirmed whether the Jeepers Creepers films will have new scans or are they the same as previous releases?

Wouldn't surprise me. II, III, and IV just got released by Scream, they have a great relationship with MGM, and this is par for the course w/them (release Halloween II & III, release the rest of them a couple of years later). I would be amazed if Species isn't among their annoucements at the big summer reveal, which I hope also includes a Phantasm series boxset, the Ultimate Edition of Dawn Of The Dead upgraded to HD, Candyman and Cape Fear (either the original or the remake)
