Had most of what was on sale, but I did end up grabbing both Tales From The Crypt's and Darkman. Don't own Cat People or Squirm but they don't look like something I'd watch more than once.

Thankfully I own most all of these already so I wasn't too tempted to spend a large amount today... I eventually talked myself down to just two titles for now... Dolls, which i had been wanting to grab for a while now and was an easily decision, and Lake Placid just so that I could finish out that series on Blu Ray (Owning 2-4 already). Later this week I may still come back for Darkman, Class of 1984, Dog Soliders and/or Night of the Comet. Day of the Dead and The People Under the stairs are also of interest, but since I already own the non-Scream Factory releases I've decided to pass for now.

Great sale though, thanks so much for sharing!

thinking of blind buying Lifeforce vs. buying Night of the Demons which I've seen and like pretty well. How much mileage would one get out of Lifeforce as a blind buy?

Cat People is actually quite good. It's a horror movie with layers that is, frankly, deserving of critical re-analysis.

There are a lot of things that makes Lifeforce have a lot of replay value, including...

Honestly, I think it is one of Tobe Hooper's best and most entertaining films. Sci-fi, horror, zombies, an insanely hot girl, Patrick Stewart acting whacky...lots of reasons to love it.

Ordered 'Demon Knight'. Tempted on a few others but they'd be blind buys so I haven't decided yet. (SC2, SC3, Bordello of Blood, Pumpkinhead, Dog Soldiers, and Dolls)... If y'all could recommend two of those, that'd be great

I think my top picks from those listed would be SC2 & SC3.. however since that's rather boring since you're only getting films from one franchise, I'd recommend Pumpkinhead and SC2.

If you don't mind low budget, tongue-in-cheek slashers, I would HIGHLY recommend Sleepaway Camp 2. Highly entertaining. Pamela Springsteen's performance is one for the slasher history books.

Personally, I think Bordello of Blood DOES NOT hold up well at all. Even as a hormone filled 12 year old I didn't care for it much and I care for it even less now.

One of them has to be Pumpkinhead.

I think the film has gotten better the older I've gotten and is highly enjoyable... however because at least a few people on the boards share your opinion I refrained from recommending it as it seems very much to be a love it or hate it type of movie.

My personal picks would be Pumpkinhead and Dolls. I really enjoy Bordello of Blood, but I concede it's a weak follow-up to Demon Knight. Dog Soldiers is a film I could never get into, despite many attempts.

It was the opposite for me. I saw it theatrically in 1996 and didn't like it. But now 20 years older, I watched it recently and have come to like it. Not love it, but like it.

You should buy both. I don't say this lightly, I am less than impressed by many Scream Factory movies, but both of those are completely awesome in totally different ways. Lifeforce is a wild, bizarre film that feels like a misguided attempt to make something in the spirit of Quatermass and the Pit but with tons of (incredible) nudity. It's like nothing else I've seen, despite having seen all the films it's trying to imitate. I really don't think there will be another movie remotely like it. It's not "good" by conventional definitions, but it's unforgettable and I love it.

Night of the Demons is one of the few of those 80s mainstream horror films that I think is as fun as the fans say. There's not a lot else to say about it. It's really fun, and the characters and situations are a lot more likable and entertaining than you'll see in any of the other 80s flicks in this sale. It's gory and lots of people get killed, but unlike nasty films like The Burning, it has a certain...friendliness to it. The actress who plays the lead demon is wonderful. And the lipstick scene is a thing of greatness.

The only other films besides the obvious (Howling, Day of the Dead, EFNY) I'd recommend more than these two on the sale are Ginger Snaps (which is very controversial around these parts as it was explicitly directed at young women, and societal outcasts at that, and most people on this board are old dudes) and Sleepaway Camp (one of the funniest films ever made but with a truly shocking ending).

Darkman, The Howling, Day of the Dead, Cat People, Motel Hell, Squirm, Pumpkinhead, and Terror Train I'd all wholeheartedly recommend from a movie quality standpoint as well, just be aware that the PQ on some of them is controversial.

I just blind-bought Demon Knight and semi-blind-bought Lord of Illusions (I saw it on the Sci-Fi channel years and years ago and remember a few stunning sequences, I'm curious to see it again) and Dolls (same deal, I remember seeing it on basic cable many years ago but don't remember much about it). I remember disliking Dog Soldiers the one time I watched it, but hear so many good things about it I had to get it. I know the PQ is incredibly controversial and downright ugly, but the DVD looks pretty awful too, so what can you do.

Can't recommend the Fog enough for those that don't have it.

Ok. You guys talked me into it. I am in on this sale. So glad I held off on some of these titles. This is an amazing sale. Great deals!

I just added the following titles to my small, but growing Scream Factory collection...

Night of the Demons
Lifeforce
Terror Train

I had some Amazon points as well and all 3 titles ended up costing me $27.92 with free shipping.

I'm down for Shocker, but still contemplating whether or not I should blind buy PumpkinHead or The Fog. Will they have any replay value?
